International orders*The JVC HZ-CA13U is a cine optical PL adapter. To enable the use of film lenses with the ProHD line of camcorders, JVC optical engineers have implemented an all-optical relay system that takes the image from the lens and converts it to the proper proportion of the camcorder imager, preserving the depth of field (DoF) and field of view characteristics. The result is an optical tool that enables the use of 16mm, Super16 and 35mm film lenses with a PL mount with the JVC ProHD series of camcorders.
Note! The image from film lenses will be inverted. The JVC ProHD 200 series camcorders have image inversion capability to right the captured image from the HZ-CA13U to the proper proportion. Please see the operations manual of the 200 series camcorders for additional details

Comments about JVC HZ-CA13U Film Lens Adapter:
I have a Super-16mm camera so I have a set of super speed prime lenses. I finally got one of these adapters for my JVC GY-HD200 camcorder. I shot a short film using my GY-HD200 and the JVC HZ-CA13U adapter. The first thing I noticed was how well made the adapter is. My cine lenses fit perfectly and I was off to the races. There is practically no light loss and often I was having to put extra ND filters in front of the lenses. Depth of field is near identical to Super-16mm film. Only problem is cine lenses cause the camera to go "saturation" happy. So you need to tone down the saturation on the camera, especially the reds. I have an 8mm wide angle lens. I never knew you could shoot such beautiful wide shots with the JVC Camcorder. Waaahooooo! A friend took my footage into Apple's Color and did a little color-correction to the footage. The end result was mind blowing. I highly recommend this adapter if you have prime lenses or have access to some. It makes you fall in love all over again with your JVC ProHD camcorder.
