Comments about Pioneer DJM-400 Two Channel DJ Mixer:
I have been djing for several years and have experienced various mixers throughout. Personally, I have never had the money to spend on high end mixers; dealing with many different vestax (low end) mixers. After my last vestax burned out - I decided it was time for an upgrade. The week prior to my need - I played on the 4 channel version of this mixer at a club and fell in love with the features, effects, etc. However, that mixer is more than I need at this time.
Needless to say, when finding this mixer at such a good price - I jumped on it (as it has many of the same effects as the 4 channel. As I am a reggae/dancehall selector - I don't scratch much - but, I blend and mix fast. The crossfader is exceptional. I use Dennon 3500s and they have good effects to begin with - but, to have the effect level directly on the mixer is perfect and easier to use!
My only problem with the mixer and I feel this is significant - is that there is no way to control the booth volume from the mixer. There is a master one output and a volume control ... and a master two output - but, no separate volume control for that - I find that strange. Perhaps I'm overlooking the knob, but I don't think so. That alone drops this from a 5 star to 4.

Comments about Pioneer DJM-400 Two Channel DJ Mixer:
As a bedroom DJ, this was really the perfect mixer for me. Its compact, it only has two channels (but it's all I need right now), it doesn't have the price tag of a DJM 800, but still comes with an In loop sampler, Special Beat Effects, Headphone adjusting dials, solidly built cross fader and channel faders, etc. My only complaint is that it does not have XLR inputs (I really don't need them right now because I'm not hooking up professional speakers to it but I feel it limits the versatility of the mixer).
