Maybe this has happened to to you... I realized very quickly after I got used to my digital Rebel that there was a flaw in my capturing of images on a bright day. I was underexposing some outdoor shots because in the bright sunlight I had upped the brightness of the display due to glare, thus tricking myself into thinking I had shot a brighter image than I actually had. This sunshade has solved all my problems. Plus, I found out that one can remove the flip-shade and still keep the protective covering over the display, brilliant! The only issues I have with it are that I keep almost poking myself in the eye with the shade up trying to take a picture, and the snap is sometimes a little hard to pop open when my fingernails are particularly short.

this little add-on offers a nice cover for your valuable lcd screen, keeping it from getting scratched and compromised. The one downside is that the actual mechanism (aka the doors) are pretty flimsy. its just plastic so just some caution in opening it and it should be fine, otherwise you may break the connector plastic pegs and have to get a new one. But for its purpose it is absolutely a must!

I got this product to protect the LCD screen and it mor than handily did the job. The pop-up shade is a bit clumsy to use the fuction buttons but its better than screwing up a screen. A great security blanket.

I just spent 30 minutes trying to get it on. It was no snap. Never did figure it out and I was afraid to forcing anything, for fear of harming my new camera. By the time I was done with the struggle, both the shade lens and the LCD camera lens were full of finger prints. $40 down the drain.

I just received my Delkin Pop-Up shade for my Canon Rebel Xti and found that if you wear glasses the LCD protective lens acts like a mirror when your outside. All I can see is a reflection of myself. I'd think twice about buying one if you wear glasses.
