The Allen Avionics HD-SDI is a video hum and noise eliminator; hum eliminators work best when interference causes small differences in ground potential (less than 20 VDC) or long cable runs have induced currents. HD-SDI units also work well when there are multiple power panels in a building that create differences in ground potential which induce ground loop current flow and 60 Hz hum.
- Reduces Electromechanically Induced Hum
- The HD-SDI of hum eliminators increase the attenuation at the power frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz) when induced currents are high, therefore reducing hum.
- Unlike analog signals, the digital signals do not degrade gracefully and are subject to a cliff effect. The eye pattern is typically used to evaluate signal quality. When an external factor such as random induced noise affects the absolute bit timing it can result in lost data. This noise reduction device can keep the digital signal from degrading by eliminating the noise.
