The Quick Pod Pro Boom-Style Tripod is a boom-style hand-held camera mounting pole that lets you properly frame and photograph yourself with your friends and family, without having to ask strangers for help. It can be held out at arms length, extended to a length of 18.5" (47 cm), and features a built-in self-image positioning mirror that assure that the camera is aimed in the right direction.
Ideal for use with compact digital cameras or camcorders, it is also ideal for video bloggers using it to film themselves, or making their own movie clips to post on YouTube etc.
The Pro version also includes supporting adapter legs which convert the Quick Pod from a boom-style hand held model into a traditional-style tripod.

Comments about Quik Pod Quick Pod Pro Boom-Style Tripod:
my quikpod arrived broken (one of the plastic parts fell off or something), but BHphoto did an amazing job with the whole exchange situation, Im still waiting for the new one, but the way I see it is that this tripod does the job and apparently its the best one for this whole taking pictures by yourself task, but it is extremely delicate, it is made with flimsy plastic parts and you should really handle it with care, i dont understand why quikpod doesnt offer a tripod made entirely of metal that you could extend easily without feeling it will break everytime. So three stars because It does the job, minus two stars because it might break

Very dissqapointed and because at [$] I expected a quality product. The unit is constructed of all plastic that is quite flimsy. The built in mirror is nothing more than shiny plastic that does not move when the camera is repositioned. On vacation I ended up using my mini tripod, extending one leg and using it the same as a quikpod with the benefit of having a full tripod if needed. Pro's??? the only thing that I could possibley think of is you can fit this in you pocket.

Comments about Quik Pod Quick Pod Pro Boom-Style Tripod:
I love the idea about the Quick Pod and it's design, but my biggest complaint is the with the overall quality of the material used on this product. I was disappointed when I first opened the package and noticed that it was PLASTIC. The extensions feel like they'll break if you slightly flex them the wrong way. The molding for the camera mount may crack if over tightened (I'm not sure if the camera mount on the one I received has a hair line crack or is part of the mold. I'm guessing time will tell...this is also my first review at B&H[...]I have purchased many products at B&H and have been very satisfied with them all, except the Quick Pod. I like the product, but will also use caution when attaching my point and shoot or flip mino to the Quick Pod.

I use it to take underwater video with my Pentax W30 when out in the kayak.I made a bracket out of angle alluminum to hold the camera down instead of up.
When extended the Quick Pod is a little shakey.

A very simple, well developed idea, to avoid those unconvenient "convex" looks on self pictures. Great way to be able to "get included" into the scene!
