The Quick Pod Deluxe Boom-Style Tripod is a boom-style hand-held camera mounting pole that lets you properly frame and photograph yourself with your friends and family, without having to ask strangers for help. It can be held out at arms length, extended to a length of 18.5" (47 cm), and features a built-in self-image positioning mirror that assure that the camera is aimed in the right direction.
Ideal for use with compact digital cameras or camcorders, it is also ideal for video bloggers using it to film themselves, or making their own movie clips to post on YouTube etc.

I hate asking other people to take pictures of my husband and I when we go out. Now we don't have to. We just set the self timer for 5 seconds, look into the little mirror so we can see what the picture will look like and done. I'd recommend to anyone who does not want to ask around "will you please take a picture of us". This will fit any camera that has a mount on the bottom. Sadly, our SLR is heavy to extend out with just one hand so we use out little camera for this instead. Great invention!

The pole feels flimsy enough that I feel the need to treat it gently, but the trade-off is that it is light weight enough to carry around and easy to hold when snapping a shot of yourself.
I only use it with my small digital camera, I'm not sure how well it would deal with an SLR.

Once extended, I found it hard to collapse down. Being that it is plastic, it feels wobbly.
I would get a good metal type instead.
