This cd player is the same width and depth as our yamaha receiver so is perfect for stacking in our stereo hutch. The wife is not happy with a single play deck (she misses the 5 cd turntable we had for many years, but it is brain dead and it is way too big ) but this is better in that with a single player you don't end up with a pile of scratched cd's in one pile and the empty cases in another pile. when you change the cd you re-case it and all is well. (She'll get used to it...or not). This TEAC is a good lookin player with simple, logical controls and a handy remote. The display is a pleasant blue with easily read characters. It looks, sounds, and works good. Did I miss something? Oh yeah, B&H has good prices[...]. I'm happy... (the wife?...so-so...she'll get over it...or she won't Ha!).

I was looking for a simple, inexpensive CD player; amazing how hard that is to find these days. My last player just stopped reading most of my discs, so I wanted something that would work more reliably.
This one worked for about 5 months, although it always took a long time to load a CD. Now it's doing what my previous player was doing: not recognizing CDs, skipping, getting lost -- basically, I can't put in a CD and expect to be able to listen to the whole thing. These same CDs play fine on my laptop by the way.

Comments about Teac CD-P1260 - MP3 CD Player:
Firts of all, I was mad 'cose it came broken! the CD plate was loose; clearly it was not a manufactures nor seller fault, it was the custom's agent inappropriate handling!... but after my wife with her littles and tender fingers solved the problem, I can say the CD Player is a very good product.
I bought it to replace my expired Pioneer CD Player; who would think that after almost 20 years of technological advance this new CD player would be bigger and heavier than my old one, well, it does not matter 'cose the sound is great, even better than my old Pioneer cd player (but not as good looking).
I have it connected to an old Marantz radio receiver/amplifier, a Pioneer double tape deck and a Phillips turntable... with Sony speakers.
It has a minor fault (due to the custom's stress I guess), if I leave open the cd plate for too long I can't close it back without forcing it, so I have to open it-take the cd out-close it right away, then, when I have the next cd in my hand, I open it-insert the cd-close it fast... it works that way.
the option to hear to MP3 is great (my son will enjoy it more), but I still prefer "audio CD"... and yes, my old vinyl discs.
For a grand total of "product price + shipping and handling + import fee = U$319" it has to (at least) sound great... and it does!
Oh, and it has a headphone plug-in, great too!

I live in Italy and have been looking for an affordable, decent CD player that can be played on both 110 and 220 volts to replace my aging CD player that skips on at least 50% of my CDs. This one hit the mark, and, as advertised is straight forward, affordable, and is capable of playing all my CDs without skipping, including my home-made ones. How nice it is to be able to hear all my CDs again!

Comments about Teac CD-P1260 - MP3 CD Player:
My 20-year old Sony finally packed it in. In the interim I was playing music CDs on my DVD player, which was a pain in the neck because you had to turn the TV on to see which track you were on, etc. So I purchased this Teac player, which is fine as far as it goes. It displays the total disc time when you insert a CD, and it displays time elapsed for each track being played. That's it. Unlike my old Sony it does not show how much time is remaining on the track, or how much is remaining on the remainder of the disc. It seems to be very sensitive to dust on the disc. I've put in a couple of brand new CDs where the sound immediately stuttered and skipped and then playback stopped. The discs were clean except for one or two micro-sized pieces of dust that I removed with a soft cloth, after which the discs played OK. Otherwise, after a week of use the unit seems to be fine. There are not a lot of CD players on the market any more, so one doesn't have as much choice in products as one used to. The Teac seems to have most of its features aimed at mp3 disc playback, which I don't use. A port for a memory stick might have been a nice touch. It does have a headphone output with volume control for those users who remember what headphones were.

One of the few remaining single-play decks out there, at least in my price range. Does exactly what it should do, and does it very well. No qualms, no quibbles. I recommend it highly.

Comments about Teac CD-P1260 - MP3 CD Player:
I use this unit to play cd's and mp3 discs, I have not had the unit very long but so far it is working well. I replaced an old Sony 5 disc changer which was problematic after a few years of use so I was not eager to replace it with another, that led me to this unit and so far the abiblity to creat mp3 discs has more than made up for the lack of multiple cd cabability without the mechanical problems that come with them.

I needed a way to add CD music to a large gathering. This player was flexible to play various types of CD music for those assembled. This unit plays not only CD tracks but also WMA tracks and MP3 tracks, So I can use almost any recorded disk source. It doesn't have a slot for SD cards but it didn't advertise that it did. That would be a very good upgrade as would mounting brackets for more secure installation.

Comments about Teac CD-P1260 - MP3 CD Player:
I wanted a player of reasonable quality that would conveniently play mp3 files as well as regular audio CDs. This TEAC component is nearly ideal for my purposes. I can easily step through mp3 files and though directories of mp3 files. The quality is completely acceptable. I suspect that the theoretical quality could be improved. In practice, I have no heard any problems with playback or quality. It does what it was designed to do, ... very well!

Using this in a home office with a sony STR-DH100 receiver and two very small KLH bookshelf speakers. Wanted small size CD player to fit on a 12 inch deep shelf in a bookcase. Would have purchased a combined receiver/CD player, but could not find one with decent specs that didn't have a record of mechanical malfunctions and failures. No problems or complaints with this unit. Easy hookup, good sound, all the basic features I need, extremely quick loading and playing, and, most important for this application, an economical price. Highly recommended for this type of limited installation.

Comments about Teac CD-P1260 - MP3 CD Player:
It seems to be able to play the various types of CDs. It also plays back MP3 files recorded on a CD, which is nice. Other CD players display the text info: Artist, Song Title, Album Title. The CD-P1260 doesn't which is too bad. Also it's very, very big. If it was a 5 CD changer, you might justify it's large size. But it's just a single disk CD player, it could be a lot thinner and smaller. There must be a lot of empty space inside that box. For the price, it's ok.

bought this player for my rumpus room in the basement. didn't need anything fancy, just something to play tunes when friends stop over. although some reviews mentioned problems reading discs, i haven't encountered any problems.function controls could be larger, but not that big of a deal. good bang for the buck.
