The Kata DVG-52 Camcorder Guard for Sony HVR-Z1 or HDR-FX1 is fabricated from a special semi-rigid closed cell foam and fabric lamination thermo pressed to duplicate the exact camcorder design. It will safeguard the camcorder from knocks, bumps, scratches, dust and dirt while maintaining all working functionality. The camera guard matches the shape of the camcorder while transparent windows, dedicated cable connecting slots and quick access pull flaps to buttons and controls allow easy monitoring and operating of all functions. A flexible lens hood can easily be folded out of the way to accommodate a matte box when in use.

Camera Guard designed to mold perfectly with a camcorder and maintain access to controls.
TST (Thermo-Shield-Technology) protects the equipment while creating an extremely light product. The outer surface of the TST is thermo-formed in a protective "riibshape" construction. Comments about Kata DVG-52 Camcorder Guard:

Worked extremely well. Has an excellent fit. The one thing that I found lacking is the velcro straps underneath. They seem to get in the way when the camera is mounted on a tripod. I had to fight it a little to get it on and off. That being said, I would not hesitate to puchase this product.

Great Cover, but still lacks in some areas...

Comments about Kata DVG-52 Camcorder Guard:

There are three items that come to mind on the cover:1. No Strap Hole above the DV link to use strap, easily fixby cutting and modify the cover.2. Access to the LANC and Headphone inputs are almostimpossible to get to and use without a bit of manipulation, even then very tight to get into that area.3. Only 85% Coverage on the camera, definitely not an answerfor wet weather, it does however cut down on the dustaccumulation on the camera. Still Trust my painter tape tocompletely seal my unit. This makes a great exterior protection for those casualtimes when you get a dirt dusting, light mudding spray fromrace vehicles or water truck mistings. Definitely not theWET cure all, due to open button components on handle, under LCD viewfinder and the REC button. Extremely windydusty environments might give this cover a challenge to keepthe camera completely clean. Hope this helps.
