The B+W 67mm Clear MRC 007M Filter is a simple, clear filter designed for general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect the overall image quality while helping reduce dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from damaging your lens.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Comments about B+W 67mm #007M Protection Clear MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) Filter:
I purchased this for use with my Canon 100L macro lens. When hunting bugs, I frequently use the lens without the hood trying to as close as possible, situations where twigs/dirt (or whatever) might easily scratch against the lens. I would much rather risk scratching an easy-to-replace filter.
I own a number of B+W clear / UV filters and they always perform as they should: which means they have no noticable effect on image quality. This one has been no exception.

Comments about B+W 67mm #007M Protection Clear MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) Filter:
If I'm going to spend over $1000 for a lens I want the front element protected, but I dont want to sacrifice image quality. The B+W Clear filters are pretty good at repelling smudges and dust, and relieve any anxieties about scratched or cracked front elements. Of course B+W makes the highest quality filters available as-well...

Comments about B+W 67mm #007M Protection Clear MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) Filter:
B&W and MCR coatings are the best protection for a lens I can think of. Multi Resistant Coatings are much easier to clean than lesser filters from other manufacturers. Worth the nominal extra cost.
The precision threaded mounts are easy to thread on and take off when necessary.

Photographers that use a UV filter for protection need to take a look at this filter. Digital censors already block UV rays and new lenses already have UV coatings on them. So why use a UV filter? Test it yourself by shooting an image with and without a UV filter and you'll see a slight color-shift between the two images. This clear eliminates that problem while protecting the lens.

I'm using this as protection for my Sigma 28-70 2.8 lens. Filter has brass ring, so is easy to unscrew it. There is almost no visible color shift, so I like it, since I'm still shooting film. MRC multicoating is nicely repelling water, and is easy to clean.

Since I brought the filter home and attached it to my Pentax FA 20/2.8 lens, it stays there permanently. I would highly recommend such a filter if you are among those photographers who use clear multi coated filters to protect their equipment.
