The B+W Push-On Lens Cap #300 model is their 'standard' unit, and has a slightly convex front surface to prevent the inside of the cap from touching the glass of your lens when it is tucked away in a bag. The sides are their 'standard' depth, to fit on normal lens barrels or standard-style filters, and this particular unit has a 42mm inner diameter.
B+W also makes a 'shallow' sides model, the #305 model, to fit on slim filters, and a more common snap-on cap.
It isn't an exact science due to all the variables involved, but generally a push-on cap that is 2-3mm larger than the lens' filter size fits just right.

Comments about B+W #300 42mm Push-On Lens Cap:
A lens cap is not a particularly glamorous thing, but it is an essential part of a camera outfit. This one fits my Voigtlander Bessa R3M Nokton 40/1.4 lens perfectly, and its German logo even matches the language of my camera!

Comments about B+W #300 42mm Push-On Lens Cap:
Solid, simple design.
I'm using this with a Leica 35mm Summicron—
My only qualm is that while this cap pushes on to the bare lens quite snugly, when I have a 39mm B+W filter (yellow, red, etc.) on the lens the cap's fit is much less snug as the filter's outer diameter is smaller than that of the lens. Little issue, but because of it I will likely not be using this cap much with that lens.

Great item for our DX Kodak digital camera. It is a little loose, but should be able to make it work better than the stock Kodak cap.

When you think about a camera, a lens cap is not the first thing that comes to mind... until you have to send that super piece of Zeiss glass off to be polished to take a scratch out! This is a great piece of gear. Hard rubber, it pushes on and fits like a glove. Plus (and I didn't realize it at the time of placing my order) it's made by Schneider Kreuznach. It even looks good on my 1938 Contax III! It really doesn't get any better for this price!

I love this little lens cap! The KODAK DX6490 lens cap is now on the endangered species list! The KODAK DX6490's lens barrel is 41.5 mm. I used a small piece of matching black velcro loop tape on the inside lip of this lens cap as a shim & it fits perfectly snug. I also bought and attached a lens cap tether for it. What's also cool is that the KODAK DX6490's lens IS a Schneider-Kreuznach Varigon lens - so it matches anyway, and looks better than KODAK's original lens cap!
