The M-Audio X-Session Pro is a USB MIDI controller designed to establish virtual DJ mixer control over the included Torq LE DJ software, or any of the popular virtual mixing software titles. A total of 27 tactile MIDI controllers feature 10 buttons, four sliders, 12 knobs and a MIDI crossfader for complete control over pitch level crossfade, EQ and virtual effects.
The included Torq LE software feature two virtual decks for cuing, beat-matching, and mixing digital audio files. The X-Session Pro is a class-compliant MIDI device under Mac OS X and Windows XP, so you'll never need extra drivers to make it interface with your favorite DJ applications. The lightweight, USB controller mixer is easily portable and eliminates the need for actual DJ mixers, CD decks and turntable setups.

Comments about M-Audio X-Session Pro MIDI/USB Controller:
I am using this with Traktor Pro and am very happy with it. The MIDI communicates flawlessly with my software. It's limited by its number of buttons though I've turned two of them into "shift" modifiers that give me extra functionality. I don't quite find it an adequate tool by itself -- I am using it in conjunction with a Kontrol X1. But together they cover everything I need. Eventually I'll be able to afford a DJM mixer but in the meantime this is proving to be a very cheap and effective "cheat."

Comments about M-Audio X-Session Pro MIDI/USB Controller:
I am a professional DJ and ive been called to play at small venues(Stores, restaurants, Etc.) sometimes it is a pain to carry all my equipment specially when I am all alone. This MIDI controller/mixer works with my Torq program and its very simple to use, I highly recomended.

Comments about M-Audio X-Session Pro MIDI/USB Controller:
I own my own online streaming radio station, and I use the X-Session Pro in coordination with a Mac, a 16 channel Yamaha USB audio board and a M-audio Trigger Finger. The X-Session is connected via USB to the computer, and works as my primary music mixer allowing me to load and play songs on the fly while running live broadcasts. It’s simple, effective and versatile, has loads of features and seamlessly accesses my itunes music library.
Drawbacks: You need a computer of course, and every once in a while the USB link glitches out requiring the devise to be unplugged and plugged back in. Also the Torq software is difficult to download and install. There's way to many proprietary safeguards on installation, and even after you jump through the hoops, the software requires the device to be connected to operate. This is not good if space is limited and you want to just use the software based controllers.
