The carbon fiber tubes make for a lightweight fishpole for extending a mike. But the tubes also conduct a fair amount of handling noise to the microphone, more than my older (and heavier) Gitzo aluminum fishpoles. The reversible thread at the tip makes for wider compatibility with mike and camera holders.

Strong, light & basic. Everything one needs in a boom pole. While it would be nice to have an internal cord... is it really worth a couple hundred bucks to put some gaffer tape on the pole?

This was recommended to me by several boom operators and I certainly agree with what they had to say.
It's very lightweight and easy to hold for long durations which makes it truly invaluable. The G-Lock system is excellent for locking down a certain height and I don't think I could have made a better purchase for the type of work I do.
