The Hewlett-Packard Designjet Z3100 24-in Photo Printer incorporates innovative print technologies to produce projects with color that can resist fading for as long as 200 years. It uses a 12-ink system, including HP Vivera pigment inks and the HP 70 Gloss Enhancer, and HP Quad-Black Inks help you create beautiful black and white prints and achieve truly neutral grays under different lighting conditions. It also provides you with continuous tones, uniform gloss and rich blacks, making it ideal for high-quality art reproduction, photography and proofing applications.

Whether you're in the business of printing signage, photographs or fine art, you need accurate and repeatable color output - print after print, and printer to printer. That's why the HP Designjet Z3100 Photo Printer incorporates the industry's first embedded spectrophotometer on a printing device of its class. Mounted on the printer carriage, the spectrophotometer intuitively acts like a human eye, measuring the color of each page and making adjustments so color output matches the original, print after print. And it's all done automatically and within milliseconds. Using Eye-One Color Technology from GretagMacbeth/X-rite, the spectrophotometer helps make color matching simple and accurate throughout the printing process. Regardless of the paper you choose to use, this precision tool enables automatic color calibration and easy ICC profiling, letting you create color profiles in minutes, not hours.

With large format printing, you can easily manage output on media that spans up to 24" wide. You can also push beyond the limits of traditional papers, choosing from the widest range of media options on the market. This includes more than 30 options in the HP media portfolio. To further increase media choice and flexibility, HP has partnered with Hahnemuhle Fine Art to make Hahnemuhle's entire portfolio of digital fine art media types fully compatible with the HP Designjet Z Photo Printer series.

• Consistently Beautiful Print Quality: Achieve smooth color transitions with stunning highlight and shadow details, truly neutral grays under different lighting conditions, and the elimination of bronzing as an image-quality issue thanks to dependable HP technologies including Vivera inks, and the latest ink head technology. Furthermore, you'll get broad gamut coverage with over 80% PANTONE coverage, and full compliance with prepress standards (SWOP, ISO, GRACOL, EUROSCALE, TOYO, FOGRA, and 3DAP).

• HP Vivera Pigment Inks: Vivera inks offer outstanding image quality and fade resistance on a wide variety of photo and fine art media, along with water resistance on a range of HP creative and specialty media. HP's proprietary Electrosteric Encapsulation Technology optimizes the pigment chemistry and ink properties for stability and performance to ensure a broad color gamut, print permanence, excellent gloss uniformity, and reliable, accurate, and consistent printing. Furthermore, you can easily switch between matte and glossy papers without having to swap black cartridges, and the resulting prints resist fading for over 200 years.

• 12-ink Printing System: The Designjet Z3100 incorporates six HP 70 Printheads, each printing two colors of ink with 1,056 nozzles per color. The system includes the HP Gloss Enhancer and HP Vivera pigment inks in seven colors and four blacks. These inks deliver an exceptionally broad color gamut for photographic and graphics art applications, superb neutral tones, and deep blacks on matte, glossy, semi-gloss, and fine art papers. The incorporated Quad-Black ink set delivers true gray neutrality under different lighting conditions and produce smooth continuous tones and deep rich blacks.

• Embedded Spectrophotometer with i1 Color Technology: A sophisticated spectrophotometer is mounted directly on the printer carriage and revolutionizes professional color workflows by automating media profiling. It allows users to automatically generate custom RGB ICC profiles for their preferred media and provides accurate measurements for printer calibration that delivers print-to-print and printer-to-printer color consistency. Also, with the optional HP Advanced Profiling Solution, you can edit and modify existing profiles and create CMYK profiles.

• Extensive Media Compatibility: HP offers a portfolio of 9 photo papers, 10 digital fine art papers, 3 proofing papers, 9 bond and coated papers, and over 30 other HP media. All have been tested with HP Vivera pigment inks to deliver consistent, museum quality prints that withstand the demands of handling, display and storage expected of professional prints. The Printer will also work with almost any inkjet compatible media that is available
