This is the third light I've purchased. Great, lightweight, reliable, diffuse focus aiding light. I use it with a Nikon D-200 in a Subal case when I'm shooting macro. It is especially useful with my 105 mm Nikon VR lens. I find for anything other than macro, the light is not bright enough nor the pattern wide enough to provide enough illumination for focusing. For macro, the more narrow light beam allows better aiming when shooting at the 1:1 range. The greatest downside is that, if you forget which way to turn the light on or off.....you will flood it. As I said, the first two, I flooded. Battery life is surprisingly good.

For some reason it was really hard for me to turn on and the mounting bracket was impossible for me to use on my underwater camera housing, which is why I bought it. The light was very bright but the bracket was not practical.

I am not happy with that pilot light. First of, it turns only off, if the strobe has a pre flash. Not very usefull under water.
Than the strength of the light fades after a meter until you can't see it anymore. Not good enough for the auto focus of my camera.
To be honest, I use it only as a backup light.
