The Vortex 10x42 Fury binocular is an ideal companion for outdoor activities such as bird watching, hunting, hiking, and more. The Fury series delivers impressive image brightness and increased contrast to produce detailed images, thanks to the Vortex innovative XR multi-coatings. This special optical enhancement converges into better resolution and translates into high color fidelity.
The 10x42 Fury binocular is made to withstand the harshest of habitats; that's why it is manufactured on a solid frame. The Fury binocular is specially rubber armored to sustain rough handling. Apart from being waterproof, Vortex uses Argon instead of Nitrogen gas to eliminate any possibility of internal fogging of the binocular. These specific enhancements repel water from the optics and facilitate cleaning.

Comments about Vortex 10X42 Fury Binocular:
With my eyes there is a little more adjustment with these than my old pair has. That little difference is huge for me. Pretty clear as well. Good glass for the price.

Comments about Vortex 10X42 Fury Binocular:
Great binos! They went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico first day I had them - no problems at all! Crisp, clear optics, wonderful focus. Included strap for binoculars is rather good, included bag is not - I use small Tamrac camcorder bag (can't recall the model), and they fit in it very well, with room for accessories. I was set on Nikon Monarch 10x42, but these are a lot better, and since B&H includes a $50 gift card and they come with a $50 mail in rebate until 12/31/09, you are getting them for approximately the same price as Nikon Monarchs. I am not thrashing Monarchs - it's a great optic, but I did a lot of research as well as comparative shopping - there is not much I have omitted in this price range, and Vortex won (for my eyes). And their warranty is as good as it gets.

Comments about Vortex 10X42 Fury Binocular:
I got these for a trip to Alaska in October 2009. Very useful given their waterproof and sealed construction. No issues with fogging. Had considered the "Monarchs" by Nikon also, but these seemed to be a better deal with the ongoing rebate.
I am ok with holding a 10x steady, especially on land, but others may want to opt for 8x if considering use on a cruise, for example.
The binoculars seem to be very well built and should last for a while to come. Excellent value in this price range.

Comments about Vortex 10X42 Fury Binocular:
I have not owned many bino's so I would not call myself an expert on the features but these seem like a quality set. My only complaint is that the rain cover fits loose. Warranty you just can't beat. I use these for hunting.
