The ASP009 Sumo AES from Audient is a sixteen-input summing amplifier for the Digital Audio Workstation user, who wishes to retain the sound of mixing through a large format analog mixer. Although digital mixing ("in the box") is common, many engineers feel that summing delivers fuller, clearer and more coherent mixes.
The unit provides the equivalent of a balanced stereo mix bus and the stereo master compressor from the Audient ASP8024 recording console. Also included is a peak limiter and monitor controller along with the ability to insert other outboard equipment, such as EQ, either pre or post the dynamics section.
The unit ships with the digital output option card installed. Both two-channel AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs are provided, and the card supports sample rates up to 192kHz and can synchronize to external sync sources via a Wordclock input.
Note! Unit requires two 25-pin D-Sub cables (Tascam DA88 pin-out) terminated with connectors of choice.
