I purchased this and the 815 battery for a trip recently and never really used this one much. The 815 and the default battery the camcorder came with was sufficient for all the recording that I did (around 24gb worth) It is a bit bulkier than the 815 but if your case has the room for it, then this and the original should be all you need if you plan on doing a lot of recording. Tho having a backup battery is always a good thing.

Not the best battery ever...
Does not charge very fast and only lasts a few hours on the JVC GZ-HD6. No way i could ever get 4.5 hours out of it. Maybe it's just the camera.

Overall, no surprises. Works as expected. Meaning, doesn't last as long (1 1/2 of shooting max) as you hope for and takes longer than you'd want to recharge. However, easy to pack and carry and a must have backup if you shoot for more than an hour with the lcd window open. In fact, I need to order another. I shot a wedding this past weekend and was recharging battery number 1, while shooting with number 2. Had to pull number 1 off the charger. I had the camera on for maybe 3 hours and needed a little more than 2 full battery charges.

This battery is a good design, good quality. Although, and I'm not sure if this is the fault of the battery company, but the battery like it that came with my JVC GY HM-100 came with a battery charger with a cord instead of just having the plug prongs attached directly to the charger which is nice.
