These headphones are by far the most comfortable and lightweight I have used. I use them with a HeadRoom Micro Portable Amp and that does the trick just fine. They are expensive, but I am pleased. Strings especially do well on them--harps, piano, violin and cello sound incandescent and lovely. I wouldn't recommend them for hip-hop, though. No problems so far.

These headphones are perhaps the world's best in currentproduction.To the majority of headphone listeners theothers,Sennheiser 650,AKG 701 simply cannot compare.1000$seems like insanity for a pair of cans and differences inquality become less per dollar as you spend more(eg a 1000dollar pair is not twice as good as a 500 dollar set.Theyrate with the best,Sony Qualia(no longer made),AudioTechnica 3000,Stax which are 3X the cost.There are manyexcellent reviews to be found on the net with lengthydiscussions of each,which are worth reading if you considerbuying these.Also keep in mind cans of this quality willbring out all details of your source including recordingflaws.They also will require an investment in a headphoneamplifier to get the most from them.They are efficientenough to listen to from your computer or home systemreceiver,but the soundstage,dynamic range,and performancewill be noticeably diminished.Thet will not play loud orwell with mp3 players unless you use a portable booster amp.GradoLabs website to see how many accolades they have beengiven from audiophile reviewers both here and in Europe.
