Impact Saddle Sandbag - 5 lb (Black Cordura)
Impact sandbags come in a variety of shapes and weights. They are used for securing the bases of light stands and set walls. This Impact Saddle Sandbag - 5 lb (Black Cordura) saddle style sandbag has two wings, to allow draping over light stand legs. Each side of the bag has a hand strap for easy handling and hanging on hooks.
- Outer shell is water resistant, heavy duty cordura nylon, inner shell is polypropylene.
- Handles on both sides are heavy duty polypropylene with a military style sewn box and cross for extra strength.

These bags are a nice, low-tech solution to tall boomstands or lightstands. I use these down low on my light stands to steady them inside & outside. The booms also benefit when you can place a hook at the end and hang this as your counter-weight for a light or large reflector in. They keep the wind from knocking over your equipment outisde. They each weigh 5 lbs, so if you have many, your overall carry case weight may have almost doubled. I was debating whether to get the empty weight bags and only fill them as I need them on location with water or sand. But I heard those tend to leak after short periods of usage.

I use many of these bags for weighting Impact boom stands with reflector holders. These are very durable and these do not leak sand.
