The Impact VA905 Cool Light IX is a cool-running, nine-bulb fluorescent flood light. It produces an even light source and removes specular highlights on reflective surfaces when used with a pop-up light tent.
Fluorescent continuous lighting is an economical alternative to studio lighting with a daylight balanced color temperature between 5000 and 5200°K. This 270 watt fluorescent (daylight) fixture puts out about as much light as a 900 watt tungsten fixture (13,500 lumens).
Note:Compact fluorescent bulbs can take up to 5 minutes to reach full brightness and about 100 hours to achieve optimum color.

I use this light along with a 5-bulb Impact cool light in my video studio. It's a very decent light, for the price.

Comments about Impact Cool Light IX Nine Lamp Fluorescent Flood Light (120VAC):
These lights will indeed flood the space with cool, diffuse light. My only complaint is that the mounting hardware has an incredibly bad design. The lamp cannot be properly tightened at an angle. The weight of the light is too much for the swivel joint to handle. You have to use gorilla-like force to tighten the bolt which is made all the more frustrating by a crude quasi-ratchet handle which seems like a good idea, but in practice it just doesn't work very well. I am going to try some washers and see if that will help. Facing straight ahead it does fine, but if you want to tilt the light downwards it's a bit ridiculous.
