I used this to power a boiler (25W) and recharge a laptop (80W) during a power outage. The car's engine wasn't running at the time. It was fairly quiet though the little fan made some noise which could have been annoying if I had been in the car watching TV. It seemed to work fine but I did not conduct extensive tests, e.g. checking for voltage drop or maximum output. Construction feels good and the price is hard to beat.

I have not used this product much, but it does what it suppose to. It is my first converter so I have nothing to compare it to. Seems pretty good so far :) I am happy with it.

I was going to buy a car charger for my laptop, then I found the Belkin power inverter. For less than what the laptop charger would have cost me, I now have the inverter which can be used in more ways.

This has quickly become one of my most important tools out of everything I use. The ability to charge both my MacBook Pro and Panasonic camera batteries has prove invaluable. This model, which has an approx. 2ft chord, is able to be comfortably placed on the floor of the passenger seat while being plugged into the outlet inside the center console, meaning that the weight of whatever you plug in will not weigh down the charger and bump it loose from the outlet. The two plugs are spaced well apart, but unfortunately chargers that feature their male power prongs in the middle of the unit will block both outlets. I have never had an issue with this draining my battery applying common sense and not charging equipment unless driving will preserve your car's battery life.

I haven't been able to test this sucker to the fullest extent, but while on the road shooting a documentary recently, it was a huge help to keep our batteries and laptop charged and ready to go.

I used this product during a 4,000 mile car trip in March 2011. It worked flawlessly out of the package from day one. I was able to charge camera batteries, cell phones, notebook, and video camera without one problem. Just follow the simple instructions and you'll be just as satisfied as I am. The device is simple to use and well built. I would buy it again and would recommend it to anyone needing a/c power for small devices.
