This is a great tripod! It's very sturdy, compact, and travels well. I love the feature that allows you to change the postion of your camera from horizontal to vertical without removing your camera. I use the Manfrotto Compact Ball Head 496RC2 with it. Great tripod for the price. And as expected, the service of B & H is top notch!

Very stable feel.The ability to use the center column as a horizontal arm combined with the low reach is handy for macro work.I'm using a 496 ballhead and a Canon XTi.You'd have to spend a lot more to get any more stability.

Very solid tripod, well built. Bought it to hold my Canon EOS Rebel T1i, battery grip and Tamron 70-300mm USD lens. love the macro abillity of this tripod, how low it can go. Very good tripod.

Believe it or not, I read all 330+ reviews and most of the reviews were favorable. My review is no different. I love the center column and the adjustability of the legs (length and angles). I mean, when the center column is flipped horizontally, the legs are only about 3 inches off the floor. WOW!

Since I read all the reviews, I was not surprised to read that tripod weight would be so subjective. Of course weight is subjective. You have the statistics- the tripod weighs about 4 pounds, but 4 pounds might be heavy or light depending on the user. I'm a 37 year old male and have hiked on paved trails with it for about 2 miles and didn't seem to have a problem with the weight. However, you need to actually feel the product and judge for yourself.

I paired my 190xprob with the 498rc2. I liked the pan feature of the 498rc2 so I bought that head. As for height, I'm short (5' 2") so I don't need to raise the center column.

Overall, I love this tripod and I am excited to shoot some photos.
BTW, B&H is awesome! They're a great seller and my tripod arrived quickly. No, I don't have any vested interest in B&H and I don't know any employees or have any friends who work there. They're just a great retailer with great prices and I look forward to giving them more purchases.

I purchased this tripod base for use with my Canon 7D. It supports the camera just fine with standard lenses up to 300mm.

I'm using it with a 3-way pan/tilt head and also with a fluid video head.

The tripod is a big on the heavy side, but is still lighter than my older Manfrotto which was significantly heavier. It's very well built and should last for many many years.

I have only had this tripod a few weeks but already it has proved to be more than adequate for my needs. I used it on the family Christmas Photos as well as a long exposure time lapse video which worked a treat! There was a fair bit of wind around in the morning but there was no shake in my photos using this tripod.

It extends to very useable, comforatable length then packs up into a neat little package. I haven't used the side swing arm yet but it's nice to know it's there if I need to do some macro work.

I like to shoot wildlife photos and need to get set up quickly. This allows me to do this. It is an easy tripod to pack, I like the foamed legs especially for really cold weather. It will allow you to get really low, close to the ground as well as shoot straight down from above. It is so versatile.

Works VERY well with my Manfrotto 054 MAGNESIUM BALL HEAD w/Q2 QR; very solid and is GREAT to travel with. Definitely my favorite tripod! It goes with me everywhere. PERFECT with weddings, portraits, landscapes, sports, etc.

The legs here are very sturdy and easy to manipulate. I basically use it for every type of shot but has come in very handy for nighttime or early morning shots.

Have only had this product for a few weeks, but purchased it while on an overseas holiday where we could give it a good workout. The build quality is excellent with a great balance between weight (a consideration with international travel) and sturdiness. Setup with the 322RC2 trigger grip ball head, it's quick and easy to get setup ready to get that shot, but very stable once setup, even with the center column fully extended and a Canon 7D and heavy ultra-wide angle lens sitting on top.

Looking forward to a lot more shots to come thanks to the Manfrotto tripod!

I use this product for hunting. Its very easy to use. The clasps are made of good material and lock shut. I like being able to take out the center arm at the end of the day to pack up. I walk in some times 10 miles into spots and being able to break everything down with out carrying tools is great. The price was great compared to all other places I found. Padded handles are great on the cold mornings. I use this with a Sony FX-7 Video Camera.

I use this tripod for a variety of types of photography. It works great for all of them.
The Q90 hinge and the legs that go almost 90 degrees make this tripod one of the most useful ones on the market.
It's a bit heavy for extended hiking but there is a carbon fiber version.

I am a photographer for a construction firm and use this product on multiple types of surfaces and have nothing but great things to say. In midst of the multiple lenses changes, the tripod needed absolutely no adjestments. I also used the tripod at a high elevation with decent wind gusts and the tripod didn't flinch. I was pretty impressed to say the least. Definitely happy with my purchase.
