Axsys Technologies has been designing, creating, and delivering reliable and accurate optical and motion control solutions to the US government and high-performance commercial markets for nearly half a century. They specialize in developing sophisticated systems to meet the requirements of demanding applications such as airborne thermal targeting, missile tracking, space-borne surveillance, semiconductor micro-inspection, thermal weapons systems, nighttime surveillance cameras, and precise medical imagers. As the world continues to envision ever more advanced optical applications, Axsys will remain at the forefront of optical innovation.
The Cadet75 Thermal Camera utilizes advanced uncooled microbolometer technology in a full size 320 x 240, 51µm pitch focal plane array. By integrating features of a large camera with the flexibility and convenience of a portable unit, the Cadet75 offers unmatched versatility in hand-held thermal imaging.
Thermal imaging offers superior performance over common light intensifying systems in most regards. Thermal systems read heat variations and signatures and then convert that information into high-contrast images. This technology is unaffected by smoke, camouflage, or the complete absence of light. Because the system is passive and not reliant upon illumination of any kind, it can deliver images 24/7/365.
The Cadet75 is extremely versatile with enhanced performance features that compare favorably with large-camera systems. The electronic zoom allows the operator to visualize targets at greater distances, and the integral RS-232 link allows remote observation and control. The built-in battery charger ensures long-term uninterrupted service and unlimited mobility. The live audio channel can be employed for recording legal evidence in law enforcement investigations, while the image capture capability enables instant documentation for hard-copy review and presentation.
The latest lens technology has been employed into the design and construction of the Cadet75. The germanium 75mm objective provides a wide field of view that ensures comfortable long-term viewing for the operator. Internally, the newest developments in thin-film technology provide extremely high levels of light transmission and resolution for optimum viewing regardless of the ambient conditions. The Cadet75 features a 75mm f/1.0 lens in its standard configuration. Optional user-interchangeable lenses can be employed to enhance the performance and versatility of the system.
The Cadet75 comes packaged as a complete kit, with a waterproof Pelican carry case. All the accessories you need to meet mission specific requirements are readily identifiable and carefully organized into a customized and protective insert.
