The stylish Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly - 724 Rotary Sensor Brush is ideal for travel and for light dusting of the sensor. This latest version of the popular Arctic Butterfly now has a durable plastic body with a contoured grip and a snap-on battery cover that makes changing batteries easier. Furthermore, it now includes an elegant carry case for added protection and class.
The Arctic Butterfly - 724 does not require canned air for use and therefore this is not an issue with regards to travel security restrictions. The patented rotary action and self-charging of the spinning device makes cleaning convenient on location. The Arctic Butterfly does not replace a "regular Sensor Brush" which has more filaments and is better suited for heavier dusting.

Comments about Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly 724 Rotary Sensor Cleaning Brush with Case:
All of the reviews are right on. It works great for light cleaning and travel use, and while you are still learning how to use it, you can smear your sensor.
The spinning action causes a few bristles to poke out. As well, if you aren't careful, you can get bristles into the works of the mirror box and contaminate the brush. When this happens (and beginners always do it at least once), you need to clean the brush using the sensor sensor brush wash (highly suggested) and clean the sensor using one of the wet methods. Assume that you'll have to invest in the entire kit.
Once you get the technique of angling it onto the low-pass filter without getting any of the bristles into the other areas of the camera, it works great, reliably and needs to be cleaned only occasionally.

Although I've read mixed reviews, works great for me, takes care of dust on my 5D (FF sensor) and Rebel/300D, at least after 2 or 3 passes over the sensor.

Comments about Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly 724 Rotary Sensor Cleaning Brush with Case:
Two serious problems with the Visible Dust sensor brushes: (1) Keeping them clean. If there are any residual oils or other residue, using the brush will result in a smeared sensor, (2) The brush bristles easily pick up lubricants in the camera chamber near the sensor, especially the the sensor edges, and smear those onto the sensor. Find a wet cleaning solution instead.

Comments about Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly 724 Rotary Sensor Cleaning Brush with Case:
I bought one of these brushes based on rave reviews and had a small catastrophe the second time I used it. The first time was perfect, but upon second use I noticed large, dark smears across my sensor. I didn't recognize this until half a day of shooting had gone by, which was a major loss. Anyway, it turns out that if you allow the bristles to drag along the edge of the sensor chamber, you are likely to pick up dust that has been soaking in the lubricants of you camera. This oily residue is then transferred to your sensor. Then you must buy a wet cleaning solution for the new problem! My thought now: forget this brush, spend the money on a good wet solution for emergencies and stick to the rocket blower. I wish to goodness I'd have known of this danger before inserting the brush into my camera.
