Zeiss' 7x42 Victory T* FL binocular, available in two colors, is the epitome of optical excellence. From any measurement of greatness it succeeds admirably, a tool bereft of weakness which becomes so intuitive with use as to functionally disappear from the user's mindset. This should be the goal of any binocular-to be the invisible conduit to great viewing of the subject. The 7x42 Victory T* FL provides a comfortable, bright and broad portal.
The optics within the 7x42 Victory T* FL binocular were created with elements of abnormal partial dispersion, a chunk of gobbledygook easily translating to the observer as the theoretical limit of razor sharp imagery free of color shift or chromatic aberration, the dreaded bane of bargain binoculars. When focusing upon a flat subject, the image is as sharp at the edges of the enormous viewing field as it is at the center. The broad focusing range goes from end to end in just a single rotation of the center focus dial, which also houses the dioptric correction.
The 7x42 Victory T* FL, like all ultra-premium European crafted binoculars, is not for the frugally minded. It is instead a product intentionally designed to deliver awe-inspiring optical and mechanical brilliance, and for many the lifetime of expected performance from such a device quickly amortizes its high initial investment.

Comments about Zeiss 7x42 Victory T* FL Binocular (Black):
A comparison between my new 7x42 Zeiss Victory and a similar 7x42 older pair from Leica is a tossup. Both feel like they are built to last. No gimmicks, no built-in compass, no fancy electronics, just top notch glass that will still do the job once our civilization has ended and batteries are no longer available. The wide field of view and large exit pupil make these binoculars ideal in low light, to track moving objects, or for use on a rocking boat. Optically the Zeiss and the Leica are both outstanding. Both are water and fogproof and equally suited for wearers of eye glasses. The Leica is shorter in length and appears to have a slightly wider field of view. Otherwise, if there are differences between the two products that truly matter in daily use, I haven't found them. The Zeiss Victory 7x42 is a truly outstanding instrument and so is the Leica.

Comments about Zeiss 7x42 Victory T* FL Binocular (Black):
Heavily used for the last 2 years in tropical, wet, cold, sunny, rainy circumstances. Always cleaned under running water, no scratches at all on the glass.
Amazing Field of View, works a treat with glasses, perfect ergonomics and easy to use one-handed. Quick and smooth focus makes it easy to get the bird into view.
The light this bino lets through is simply amazing. You will always see as more through the binos than with the bare eye, as the exit pupil is a luxurious 7mm. This also makes it very easy for the eye alignment.
Definitely a keeper and my main birding bin. Even if I don't see a lot of birds at some times out in the field, I still can make people smile everytime I let them take a look through this optics marvel!
