My last dj set up was a couple of Technics 1200 MKII's and a Rane. The transition to mixing with the BCD-3000 and Traktor LE was seamless, and the price to do so was even better! I am having a blast, and I haven't had any problems with the device at all. I am using Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron Laptop.
Pros:
a.) I love the FX (Delay, Filter, Reverb, Flanger) that Traktor offers and the control that you have over those FX with the BCD-3000. b.) Once I familiarized myself with where all of the knobs and sliders were, and what they all did, then everything became very intuitive.
c.) The looping that BCD-3000/Traktor LE has is super cool. I had never used loops before in mixing, but it does open up a whole new door to creation within the mix and setting cue points that can be jumped/looped back to instantly.
d.) The Traktor LE software is very simple, clean, and intuitive; plus it integrates with iTunes playlists which was a simple and cool feature.
Pro or Con (depending on the user):
a.) Except for the pitch control, which does have slower action, the sliders (volume and fader) have loose action and can be moved easily, so you have to make sure not to bump them while in the mix because they move freely.
Cons:
a.)The Jog Wheels (used for pitch bending and scratching) seem to have been put on slightly off balance. I don't use them that often (I just mix Techno/House/TechHouse), so it wasn't a huge deal for me. Someone who uses them for scratching might get a little annoyed with that manafactures flaw.
b.)I had problems with the BCD-3000 driver software freezing up the Traktor LE software (I think there were some IRQ conflicts). I had to disable my wireless card, and my dvd drive in order to get things working smoothly. Once I disabled those two devices, through the Device Manager, everything worked perfectly :--)
Have fun mixing :--)

The BCD3000 is a cheap but honest device. It does what it says, with a little research you can to even more than it says, but it takes a time to dig for the answers. Behringer's support is just awful (as usual), so you must dig for workarounds if you're intended to do something that differs from it's original purpose (for instance, you'll need some small tunning to use it with the full version of Traktor 3, not the bundled LE). It has an acceptable audio quality and externally it doesn't look cheap. The jog is too small for scratching but hey, digital scratching sucks even if you had a pad of the size of a LP. If you want to scratch, get yourself a pair of MK2s.

Overall this is a great midi controller. It is small light weight and can do just about everything you want it to do. The effects and how they are laid out is great. The jog wheel size isn't an issue at all. Everything is perfect on it except for one thing, the sensitivity on the pitch/ bpm control is not sensitive at all. On screen it jumps about .12 everytime you move it, which means i have to use the sync unless the songs are already the same bpm. Other than that it is a great midi controller and i would say buy it if you are looking at any other midi controller in this price range.

This was my first DJ machine and I could not ask for anything better. I am a novice with DJ equipment but I found the interface and Traktor program excellent and easy to use. The price is what really makes this product. For its price it could be the best machine of its kind.

Works great on my MacBook Pro w/ Virtual DJ V5. Just plugged it right in and started. Everything seems to work very well, except I haven't been able to get the XLR Mic input to work, and I haven't been able to use the RCA/Phono input to mix. This may just be a software or setting problem however. Overall I am pleased w/ how this system works. Lots of cool options for the price. Great for amateur DJ's just starting-up.

(THIS BCD3000 CONTROLLER IS THE BEST ONE) BUT THE ONLY REASON I GIVE IT 4 STARS IS BECAUSE THE TRAKTOR SOFTWARE THAT COMES WITH IT IS A TOTAL DISASTER, NOT ALL THE FUNCTIONS WORK OR WORK WHENEVER THEY WANTED, I UNINSTALLED AND INSTALLED THIS TRAKTOR SOFTWARE SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT NEVER WORK PROPERLY.I WENT TO MY LOCAL ELECTRONIC STORE AND BUY A DJ SOFTWARE CALL "DECKADANCE" AND INSTALLED IT AND WOW IT WORK JUST GREAT WITH MY BCD3000, EVERYTHING WORK PERFECTLY AND ALL THE FUNCTIONS AND EFFECTS ARE GREAT, THIS IS THE BEST CONTROLLER AND IT HAS A GREAT PRICE AT [@] CAUSE EVERYWHERE ELSE IS MORE EXPENSIVE "I LIKE TO LOOK AROUND BEFORE I BUY ANYTHING"IF U ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD CONTROLLER THIS IS THE ONE IT PERFORMS LIKE ONE OF THOSE OVERPRICED CONTROLLERS FROM OTHER MANUFACTURES. GOOD LUCKNOTE: FOR WINDOWS VISTA & WINDOWS 7 USERS THE CORRECT DRIVER FOR THIS BCD3000 NEEDS TO BE DOWNLOADED FROM BEHRINGER.COM, DO NOT USE THE DISC THAT COMES WITH THE COTROLLER CAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK.

the controller itself is great and works perfectly in every aspect. the traktor software that came bundled with controller would not activate with the serial number included on the package. it was a huge inconvenience when I just wanted to start using it. if you aren't planning on using the included software then its a great buy.

Comments about Behringer BCD-3000 B-Control DeeJay Machine:
i gave this product 4 stars because of set up. if set up was easier it would be a definite 5 stars. i had to custom map every button, knob and fader on the controller which took 3 hours. controller worked great after initial set up. there is a specific sequence when powering up system. turn on laptop. turn on controller. once laptop is up and running, plug in usb from controller. wait, let laptop recognize controller by showing bcd icon in tray. launch traktor pro. start mixing. i dont recommend running system on an xp computer, my xp laptop crashed 2x before switching to vista. no problems after several sessions with vista. when using mic, deck A is switched off. beat mixing with pitch fader was great, syncing does not always work. loops were flawless. effects sounded great and made for excellent remixing when looped. knobs, buttons, and jog wheel were extensively abused during practice sessions. controller still going strong. unit is not made for scratching, but if you turn effects gater at 1/32 and set jog wheel to scratch, you can transform like a pro. beat jumping with search buttons was a breeze in quantize mode. system sounds great if you have high quality mp3's. my old set up was pioneer mixer and pioneer cdj's. before that i used 1200's and vestax smx 501. entire dj systems transports in a laptop back pack. lightweight, portable, easy to set up, easy to mix, beat jump, transform, remix, excellent sound quality. be sure to purchase humx by ebtech to prevent harddrive noise over audio system. i purchased the behringer because of the good quality sound card built in and the price.
