No bald jokes, please.... The Gary Fong ChromeDome™ is an accessory to your Lightsphere Flash Diffusion System. When inserted into your Lightsphere Cloud, this chrome reflector panel will almost double the light output of your flash.

Note: The ChromeDome® was made for the Lightsphere® Cloud Model only - it does not work effectively with the clear model.

Makes Efficient Use of Your Flash
  • There is an open top to allow clear light to hit the ceiling.
  • A chrome-plated kicker panel blows light forward, while the inverted bowl blasts more light into the bowl, brightening the bowl.
  • Increases flash output without sacrificing the softening qualities of the diffusion material.

        Comments about Gary Fong ChromeDome:

Let me start with the Con's of this item:
        1) Made of plastic not metal as it appears on site!
        2) Causes your photo to be underexposed.
        3) Over priced for the quality!

With practice it should be easy to use and get the proper exposure.

          Comments about Gary Fong ChromeDome:

I honestly expected this to work a lot better than it did. I ended up just turning my strobe downward and using the cover that comes with the Lightshpere when you buy it new, it worked a lot better for the group shots I was taking. The ChromeDome didn't seen to help add anything at all.

            Comments about Gary Fong ChromeDome:

Let me start by saying that if I "Could" give no stars, I would.... For someone who was so impressed with the lightsphere cloud, I hate to say I am utterly dissappointed with the Chromedome! The first thing that I noticed was that it didn't fit tight on my lightsphere. Upon trying it, it seemed to make little difference, so I tried to do some experiments between my normal dome, and the chromedome. The results... Everyone was almost identical on my histogram? There were even a few that turned out worse with the CD on? When taking portraits with the two on, the CD had significantly more shadows! Trust me when I say that this is a complete waste of [$]!

It brightens up peoples faces more than the regular one. I can close down
to F8 and it still brightens the room.
