Behringer PODCASTUDIO FIREWIRE - Complete Podcasting Bundle with Mixer, Microphone, FireWire Interface, Headphones and Cabling - Mac OS X and Windows XP
PODCASTUDIO FIREWIRE from Behringer is a complete solution for anybody interested in creating podcasting content.
Items in the package include the XENYX 802, a compact eight-channel audio mixer to which the C-1 condenser microphone is connected. The microphone is well suited for capturing vocals and acoustic instruments.
The audio source from the mixer can be transferred to a computer using the FCA202, a low-latency, two-input/two output FireWire interface, and recorded/edited using the included Ableton Live Lite 4 software.
Live Lite 4 allows the user to compose, record, remix, improvise and edit musical ideas in a seamless environment. The software integrates loop-based and linear production methods, and presents them together in a single interface for unparalleled creative freedom.

Exactly as advertised, and more. The mixing board, the firewire converter, and the mic are all of the highest quality, and are exactly what I needed for my podcast, as well as what I was expecting. Plus, they're perfect for the price. Only downside is the software which is pretty old at this point, but not an issue as I came to the party with my own. If you want to get a small home studio set up quickly with GREAT quality, pull the trigger on this set!

The kit is a great deal, but the firewire device does not have windows 7 drivers yet and is not operational. I ordered the USB interface to replace the firewire and it works great in Windows 7. I'll just plan to keep the firewire to use when Behringer comes out with the Windows 7 drivers.

I bought the podcaststudio set to give my small video production company an expanded capability to do voice overs and some background music tracks. I was very impressed with the ease I was able to set up and get started. The sound quality is excellent and if you're like me with a limited need for studio audio recording equipment then this is for you.

This is the first recording package i bought and definitely worth it! I this is very affordable, and easy to use. I'd recommend it to anyone, no matter how good you are or not with electronics. The only con is it came with short cables, so everything ha to be right by each other.

I must admit, I purchased this product due to my limited budget at the time, and I really needed it to produce some quick voiceovers for some pressing projects. However, to my surprise, this product surpassed my expectations and I recorded some absolutely great voiceovers. The sound quality was great and worked well with both the programs I use to record sound. The eq features were great and with a few quick turns on the knobs, I was recording within minutes of installing it. I would recommend this product to all beginners, anyone who needs to record on a smaller scale or just save a few bucks. I am very happy with this product.

I wanted to upgrade my home studio for professional voice work, without spending a lot of money. This package did the job. My old Shure mixer and SM58 dynamic mic are on the shelf. The resulting sound is fuller, brighter, and more 'tweakable' with the 802's EQ.
The entire system was plug n play, with my macbookPRO, running audacity.
The desk mic stand could use some sound isolation. In my situation, the desk surface tends to pick up physical noises. But that's a small nit to pick, and lands in the category of 'environmental variable'.

I use the product to record my radio shows for our web radio station. I have used tons of equipment in my broadcasting lifetime and this unit is at the top of my list. Totally portable, great sound, and plenty of inputs. The mic is crystal clear and the audio interface makes editing and recording a breeze. Not to mention it's extremely FAST. Great product!

I am a novice when it comes to recording. So, I took a chance and ordered this Behringer recording kit. It came with all the goodies and instructions for hook up. I was able to put it together in a few mins and got started with recording. The kit is very intuitive and doesn't take a whole lot to figure out to get it working. If you want to get an idea what it takes to setup a small recording studio, this is the kit to go with. It gives you a glimpse of what the recording world is about at a fraction of the cost. The recording quality is also pretty decent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to understand the basics of setting up a recording studio.

I would have given a 5 star, but the Behringer F202 interface headphone connector didn't work. Behringer sent me an RA number and replaced it free, but it interfered with my podcast schedule. Headphones are kind of cheesy too but sound okay. Other than that I'm happy with this purchase!

I use this with my macbook pro in conjunction with garage band. It works perfectly. The product also works with Logic. With a Mac there is no extra instillation, you just however need to adjust some settings. The box has a multiple wires that can be used to run instruments in or handle effect.
The only downside is, the fire wire cable given will NOT fit into the new 9 pin fire wire port. however apple does sell a 9 pin - 6 pin that works perfectly and still supports power.

I bought this to start a podcast for my comedy troupe. It was exactly as easy to plug and play as promised, however the mic seems to be a weak link. In order to get a clear sound you have to keep the gain way down and speak too close to the mic. When you turn up the mic enough to speak at a comfortable distance the hiss sounds like you are recording onto bad tape. I am not sure if I can rectify that yet. As I said, I am still tinkering to find a better sound quality.

The "Podcastudio Firewire" bundle is great for people who want an industrial strength, quality studio production center in a box. I use it for my internet podcast pre-recorded broadcast series and the quality is wonderful. Rather durable and a steal at the "B&H" price. It is portable enough to fit in a medium size brief case which makes it easy to do location work. Delivers crisp clean, natural fidelity and the mixer has all the necessary controls to allow for maximum creativity. Bundle held to it's promise for the most part. Mic was probably the best part of the deal. However, could of used longer cables and a better description about software. Let's start with the phrase "Complete". If you intended to make this bundle complete, then you should have given the full version of Live. You say and I quote "Everything needed for professional podcasting content creation, music production and digital home recording. You can't make professional music with demo version software. Im sure the intentions were good, but I don't like being misled. Wasn't the best money I ever spent.
