Comments about Bushnell 8x30 Image View Binocular with 3.2 Megapixel Digital Camera (Black):
We got this for entertaining the wife as she accompanies my local canoeing/fishing expeditions-- we always see bald eagles, herons, and egrets while anchored at my favorite fishin' spots, and she prefers bird-watching to angling:) It seemed like it would be neat to be able to snap a photo of some of the birds while scanning them with the binocs, but the camera's very slow and rubbery cmos sensor, along with the poor alignment of the cam to the binoc's viewing area, made the making of a picture a very hit-or-miss process. Record "exactly what you see"? NOT!:) (Shame on whoever wrote the ad copy-- it's misleading at best:) Also, for my unequal focal-length eyes, the diopter adjustment seemed to need constant fiddling while scanning objects at variable distances; as the center focus was re-adjusted, the diopter adjustment would seem to wander off.[...]This product could be a cool concept, and a useful tool, but at this stage, it's just an interesting toy. I'd be willing to spend a lot more to get something that really works well, but for now back to my regular compact 7x Bushnell Audubon Society model; now there's a nice binocular!:)
