Comments about Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper - 17x22" - 25 Sheets:
I used this to print a giclee of my artwork. It gave it a very nice feel, with a bit of texture. It provided good contrast and color. I will use it again.

This is a beautiful paper for both color and monochrome photo prints. Just be sure your Epson printer has matte black capability, and can handle this weight and thickness paper. The images are rich.

I gave it 4 stars because I have been spoiled by Hahnemuhle William Turner paper which is amazing-- but at a lesser price, it was a good runner up. IMHO

has a great color gamut and deep black. a beautiful surface for fine art prints. only problem is the surface is incredibly delicate, must be stored or matted with great care.

Comments about Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper - 17x22" - 25 Sheets:
I use this paper to print black and white photos on an Epson Stylus Pro 2880. I order Velvet in the 17x22 size and use a rotary trimmer to cut it into 8.5x11 sheets. This gives me 100 sheets at 8.5x11 for [$] rather than buying it at that size for a significant amount more. It is a great paper--for smaller prints. Despite having a noticable texture, it prints with exceptional clarity. For large prints I use Epson's Ultrasmooth, as a 13x19" sheet of it will more easily go through the rear manual feed of the 2880 whereas the Velvet seems to have a problem going through. B&H is where I get pretty much everything now--camera bodies, lenses, printers, new iMac (their price was the best available, even with an academic discount elsewhere), paper, ink, cables, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised at the difference in prints on this VFAP in comparison to Premium Luster. Scales on a butterfly's wings had more sparkle. It is an excellent choice for a matte print paper.

Comments about Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper - 17x22" - 25 Sheets:
This is a beautiful paper. I have used it both for a large print in which I combined photographs and words and for prints in which I wanted a matte textured finish for a photograph. It is exactly what I had in mind.
The only problem I had with it was that the instructions that came with it say to print on the whiter side and I have a hard time seeing that one side is whiter than the other, which makes me wonder if the instructions are wrong and it can be used on either side? Or whether I'm just not seeing the difference?
At any rate, I'm very happy with the prints I've made from it.

I print using either Hahnemuhle German Etching paper if I want a textured paper or Epson Velvet Fine Art for a finer surface. Epson Velvet loads easily into my Epson 4880 is a perfect weight, and the prints turn out looking wonderful. I've tried cheaper papers like Moab's Kayenta and was not happy. Epson Velvet is worth the extra money.

this is the only Matte paper i will use. nothing else comes close nuff said. it is a thick paper that needs care when feeding it into your printer, but that is a small price to pay for the results you get from the paper
