Comments about Audiovox VE727 7" Drop Down LCD TV / DVD Player:
I bought this to replace an earlier model Audiovox, the last one lasted almost 6 years.
The audio on this one is better.
The radio reception on this one is better.
The screen on this model is a bit darker (lack of proper dynamic range), and with the on-screen controls there isn't the fine-grain control over bright/contrast/ etc that the old one had with a physical dial. Darks are a bit too dark, brights tend to saturate earlier, and you can't fix it with e.g. viewing angle or the available adjustments.
It's still acceptable, and the improvements in audio and radio reception are welcome.
Here's hoping it lasts 5+ years also.

Comments about Audiovox VE727 7" Drop Down LCD TV / DVD Player:
Installation was relatively fast and easy (except for running the TV cable to the kitchen). The unit works great, excellent TV reception, good radio quality. Haven't used the DVD yet but I expect it'll work fine. Overall I'm very pleased with this product. The TV screen is only 7" and if I were to purchase again I'd consider a larger screen for my old eyes.

Comments about Audiovox VE727 7" Drop Down LCD TV / DVD Player:
I was looking for a way to make the kitchen more friendly and kooking more entertaining. I did a right choice buying Audiovox LCD TV/DVD player/radio from B&H.I installed it under a cabinet and first thing was to check the radio. It worked well, FM pretty stable and the sound was good.Next was a DVD purchased from oversees and worked grate. At this point I got really excited. I got the cheapest GE antenna from [...], installed it and after a straight forward channel setup the TV was working great, too so I was done with setting. So far so good, everything is working great.Pros: great product for great price. It really makes a difference in the kitchen. Good sound and good image. DVD can read the discs from different regions.Cons: Installation under the cabinet may be challenging. Here are some hints: The spacers did not help on the place when I wanted to install it first. I finally selected another place were I got the right combinations of the spacers. Use some tape to attach spacers to the unit. Make sure you have enough space from the back of the unit to the wall to fix the RF cable on the back. If you are not sure, get your RF cable/antenna, fix it on the back of the unit and then fix the unit under the cabinet.

Comments about Audiovox VE727 7" Drop Down LCD TV / DVD Player:
Got the system installed easily and the tuner is working well with a simple UHF antenna to pull in the digital channels off-air. The remote/menus were simple to pick and choose stations. The screen is a little small and the contrast could be a bit better (narrow viewing angles), but it is serving its purpose as a radio/TV/DVD player just perfectly.

Comments about Audiovox VE727 7" Drop Down LCD TV / DVD Player:
This is the worst investment in a kitchen TV. I bought the unit because it saves space with its mounting option. As these units become less available from manufacturers in favor of LCD Flat screens, the quality of them is alot worse. There are no aux RCA inputs to hook up an external tuner (cable or satellite) so you'll need an RF convertor box to do that. The first few months ,the unit lost it's volume, and shortly after that the picture would not stay on. It would power up for a few seconds and needed to be turned off and on repeatedly in order for the picture to stay on. The condition worsened until eventually,it wouldn't stay on at all. The total life of this unit was about 8 months. I would recommend purchasing a small flatscreen instead. Although the mounting options aren't as nice, the unit will have a much nicer picture and most likely ,give you your moneys worth.
