The Nikon Monarch ATB binocular tripod adapter allows you to use Monarch ATB, Action, Action EX and other binoculars with a 1/4"-20 threaded socket between the objective lenses upon a tripod. The knurled screwdriver-enabled knob makes attaching while wearing gloves easy, but they also include a thinner allen wrench knob, in case the regular knob interferes with the binocular's minimum interpupillary distance setting.
Note! Not for Nikon's Astronomy series binoculars.

Comments about Nikon Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):
Purchased adapter to use with monopod with swival tilt head with quick release plate. Plan to swap binoculars and cameras on top of monopod during cruise land tour to Alaska. Fits non-Nikon binoculars and accommodates user with narrow inter pupil distance.

Comments about Nikon Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):
I bought this binocular tripod adapter so I could use my tripod to hold my binoculars steady. It works great and you can get a much better and longer look without any movement of the binoculars. It is much easer on the arms for long time viewing. It also works good with another pair of larger binoculars that I have.

Easy to install and includes a socket for the twist-prevention peg that's included in some tripod heads.
Useful with a monopod as well as with a tripod.

Comments about Nikon Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):
I use this with my 12x monarch binos and it works good. My only comment is that my wife and I have different spacing between are eyes so when moving the width of the binoculars back and forth it becomes loose.

Comments about Nikon Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):
I have my Nikon Action Binoculars mounted with the Tripod Adapter on my standard tripod. It is so easy to release so I can swap with my camera. Much easier to focus and hold steady for those times when extended viewing is necessary. Easy to install and now I just leave it on all the time.

Comments about Nikon Tripod Adapter (for Binoculars with a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):
This adapter is great. I use it attached to a monopod. It allows me a relaxed view through my porro-prism binocualars that are 10x and in need a steady hand.
They have also allowed me to pretend I've got a 600mm telephoto camera lens. I just hold my camera phone, a Blackberry, to the rubber cup of the binos after focusing, and snap. Without fixing the binoculars to something steady via this adapter, such an opperation would be very difficult, if not impossible.
Next purchase will probably be a tripod to free up the second hand that is quickly becoming occupied with wildlife cameraphone photography.
