I needed to get a tv cable connection in my home gym but couldn't route wires into the room. I connected the sender unit in my family room and now have TV in the gym room. While the image is not as good as a wired signal, it is more than acceptable and my wife can now watch TV while on the exercise bike.

Comments about RF-Link ACS-5820 5.8GHz Wireless Cable TV System:

I use it to watch cable TV in my kitchen (where the cable company said they couldn't connect me to cable easily.) The signal comes from my office TV, the room where I usually watch TV.
To install Cable in my kitchen would have cost over 250.00, and create an ugly hole in my wall, plus I would have to have a box which takes up too much space, and would be charged for monthly.
I guess it is like accessing cable internet wirelessly - that is, taking my laptop into the kitchen to use it.I wish this product would work like wireless and I wouldn't have to plug in so many things.

This wireless tranmitter reciever worked so well and was so simple to hook up I would suggest this product to anyone who can not get a digital signal to a tv via wire I shot the signal through four walls into my kitchen and the picture is as good as a wired connection

                      I'm torn

Comments about RF-Link ACS-5820 5.8GHz Wireless Cable TV System:

I loved that I was finally able to move my tv by purchasing these transmitters; however, they are definitely not as good as what was promised. In my case, I am sending the signal approximately 15 feet. I'll give them some leeway since I'm in a condo building with steel studs; however, the picture quality is not good. As mentioned in other reviews, the remote control for the devise is terrible. It puts out a weak signal and you need to hit the buttons several times before it will react. The real dealbreaker for me though, is that the transmitter completely stopped working after about a month. So, I had to send it back to the manufacturer for repairs/replacement. It has been more than 2 weeks since I sent it out, and I haven't heard anything. I didn't buy this thing so that I'd have no use of my television for weeks. I am quite disappointed.

Problems Encountered: As I said, it completely broke about a month after I began using it and had to be sent back to the manufacturer. Additionally, the tuner never worked properly; it dropped a channel completely which caused every channel above it to be misnumbered: what was normally channel 40 was 39 when using the transmitter. That was quite annoying.

                      Works through plaster walls.

Hello - I bought the RF Link to replace the Terk Leapfrog Ihad for a year. That thing suffered from interference, badtransmission, and the antennae broke off almost immediately. The RF Link is certainly bigger and sturdier, and the signalit sends is perfect. Granted, my kitchen tv is only about35-40 feet from my satellite box, but I am sending thesignal through many thick old plaster and lath walls, thicksolid wood doors, and heavy furniture. The universal remotefrom my cable box works perfectly with the RF Link. It'salmost twice the price of the cheesy Leapfrog, but it worksgreat in my old house.

                      Expertise: Done this before

Problems Encountered: The only problem so far is that it interferes with my DSLwireless signal. But I'll try to make some adjustments.

Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Terk Leapfrog junk

                      Where is the remote?

Okay, I have had this thing for a couple of days now and I'm 50/50 on this one. First, they really lost a lot of points on the remote control. Which is no bigger than the remote to open up my car, and it doesn't work more than half of the time. I'm hoping that I can find a universal remote that will work with this devise. Second thing, this unit doesn't work up to 300 feet line of site. To be truthful with you, it's about 100 feet line of site. The picture quality of pretty nice when you are in a distant range of a 100 feet, but if you can't change the channel because of the remote then it really doesn't matter if you have a good picture, even if its HD.RF-Link you have a good product here, but you screwed up on the remote, and the 300 feet line of site.
