A plug converter really only has to do two things: handle the appropriate amount of current; and fit the appropriate plugs.
Although this adaptor works, and the Australian end is a good fit, the US plug is extremely loose. It simply can't be trusted to stay in place. I tried bending the prongs slightly but that didn;t have much effect. In the end I used gaffer tape to hold the US plug in place. Not ideal but at least it won't fall out.

I live in Australia and buy most of my photographic gear from B&H so this little gem comes in very handy.
They are far better than the bulky travel plug converters and about 1/5th the price.
Just leave it attached to the cord and forget about it.
