The Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera provides 6.0 megapixels of resolution, and a powerful 3x Zoom-Nikkor lens to deliver brilliant picture detail. In addition, light sensitivity of up to ISO 800 guarantees makes it possible to produce quality shots in low light conditions, and also enables the faster shutter speeds that are essential when photographing fast-moving objects.
The Coolpix L11 incorporates three distinctive Nikon innovations that allow users to further optimize their images right in the camera - Face-priority AF detects people's faces to achieve sharp focus, no matter where they happen to be located in the frame; In-Camera Red-Eye Fix corrects for one of the most pervasive image problems found with compact cameras, providing automatic compensation for more flattering, natural-looking portraits in low light; finally, Nikon's unique D-Lighting function, improves underexposed images or shots taken with too much back light.
The Coolpix L11 also includes a stunning array of other features and technologies that make your shooting experience a true pleasure. There are 15 scene modes built into the camera so you'll always get the best possible picture in some of the most difficult shooting situations, while the Best Shot Selector (BSS) identifies and saves the sharpest image automatically from ten sequential shots. The camera provides broadcast quality video recording with sound and can record short audio clips with each picture. Macro shooting provides the ability to take pictures of small objects from as close as 15cm (5.9 in.), and the 4x digital zoom extends compositional freedom. You can frame and review your images on the bright 2.4" high quality LCD display, Plus the Direct Print capability means that you can print your pictures without the need of a computer when using a PictBridge compatible printer. And all of this is contained in a lightweight and compact camera body that you'll want to carry with you at all times.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera:
This camera model should not be bought as the MAIN or sole camera to rely on. Unless you have either a mighty solid self grip or tripod, it will disappoint you. Even on my Bogen 3001BN it still would not perform satisfactorily. I wish I had the money I paid for it. Additionally when you get down to it 3x optical zoom is not going to get you anywhere unless you are close enough on foot to buy it. So spend a bit more, search more closely, and get one that has more to offer... so you're getting what you paid for.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera:
I use the product to take pictures in my family's outings, vacation trips and the like. I have thrown pictures from a car in motion, through the closed window or front glass, and the pictures look as professional as if I had a tripod and were actually standing outside taking the picture. The clarity of the pictures is outstanding. Pictures I thought would not come out, came out perfectly. You could not ask for more.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera:
Use it anywhere; carry with you anytime! Good for events that you can´t carry another model, but want to take good shots.Good video image, but you have to use a SD card up to 10 mbits/sec. Good images outdoor; for indoor photos, the built-in flash is power enough but the WB adjust (auto, fluorescent, etc) could be better.
Comments about Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera:
I bought three of these for a middle school library. The students and teachers love them. They are easy to use, and easy to download to our computers. They were used to make stop-motion animation movies by the art students this summer.
Expertise: Intermediate
Problems Encountered: There isn't a viewfinder, but that's not a problem unless you are outside. It's hard to see the screen on a sunny day. I have had to have one repaired already--it got dropped and the lens would not close or open. Unfortunately, that is not a warranty covered item. The timing on the button isn't as fast as I'd like it--sometimes the kids aren't patient enough either.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Cameras that have 3.5 inch disks
Items I Recommend: soft case, SD card, rechargeable batteries
