- High-End Video Processing
- The DV-HD805 features Silicon HQV Reon-VX video processing to deliver full HD resolution with exquisite detail. It includes user-adjustable picture controls for both high definition and standard definition material. It incorporates an Analog Devices NSV 297 MHz/12-bit video DAC with 4x oversampling for high-quality images via component video.
- High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
- This unit features an HDMI (version 1.3a) output, capable of reproducing and upconverting video signals to 720p, and 1080i/1080p. This technology enables the player to carry the HD audio and video information through a single cable and achieving the highest quality picture and clearest sound available.
- HD DVD Playback
- High Definition video requires a tremendous amount of space on a disc, thus a Blue laser (versus a Red Laser for DVD) is utilized for HD DVD. The blue laser, with its shorter wave length, allows for information to be stored more densely on the disc, thus improving storage capacity by about over 3 times compared to that of a red laser technology.
- Built-in Multi-Channel Decoders
- It has built-in processors to handle the multi-channel decoders for Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS and DTS-HD. It employs the use of advanced DSPs to decode the multi-channel streams of the wide array of audio formats. Also, this player outputs linear PCM audio signals from Dolby TrueHD (5.1 ch).
