The Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph Digital Camera has the classic design of the original Canon Elph film camera, but is loaded with the latest digital technology. The 7.1 megapixel resolution CCD and 3x Optical Zoom lens provided excellent image quality, and the DIGIC III image processor offers impressive response times and also powers Canon's unique Face Detection and Noise Reduction Technologies, making it easier for users to capture sharp, well-exposed images in any shooting situation. The PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph is also Canon's slimmest optical zoom camera yet (measuring only 19.4mm deep), and features a clean, minimalist design.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph Digital Camera (Black):
For long I wanted to carry a camera with me everywhere and this camera is just the right size. You just don't feel it on you.
It takes nice photos but needs the right lighting for it. The flash isn't always strong enough. The high ISO on this camera isn't a very good idea.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph Digital Camera (Black):
The Canon SD1000 is a smart, fast P&S cram packed with great features. Takes superb pictures and video grabs and is compact and easy to handle. Only extra I miss is a low batt warning, but that's it. Had mine for 6 months and I'm continually impressed.
Expertise: Enlightened, seasoned amaetur
Problems Encountered: The LCD display is superb in normal light situations but washes out in bright backlighting, but then what LCD does not. This is where the optical viewfinder proves its worth. Its a great backup feature. Would be nice to have a low batt warning indicator, but hey, buy a spare battery and get on with it. In all, these are minor aggrivations.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: First P & S but exhaustively researched
Items I Recommend: Spare battery - get the Canon. My cheapo Impact sucks.
