The Sima Video Bracket has two mounts for using lights and microphones with camcorders that do not come equipped with a shoe mount. The bracket screws into tripod sockets and will fit all camcorders with a standard screw mount. Sima's video bracket can also be used as a steady grip when filming.

I bought this for my Canon Elura 100 camcorder because the camcorder does not have a shoe for an external microphone (even though there is a jack for the mic; go figure).
This bracket is excellent. Not only does it enable you to mount a microphone to your shoeless camcorder, it has a second shoe for mounting an external shoe-mounted light. On top of these features, the bracket enables you to get a much steadier shot, as you can hold the bracket with your left hand while holding the camcorder with your right hand.
The bracket really pays off for low-angle shots, because you can adjust the space between the vertical bar and the camcorder, allowing you to open the camcorder's LCD for use as a viewfinder while holding the camera stead with two hands -- one directly on the camera, the other on the bracket.
The screw mount to attach the bracket to the camcorder also has a socket for attaching the bracket and camcorder to a tripod or monopod.
I would give this product five stars, but the rubber moulding on the horizontal bar of the bracket is just a tad too tight for opening and closing my camera's LCD monitor without having to be extra careful.

Comments about Sima Video Bracket:
The bracket works fine. It's plastic, but seems sturdy.
Unfortunately, shipping took almost two months. I had ordered it to use in a specific shoot, and it arrived far too late for it. I was in regular contact with B&H during the delay, and apparently it was an issue with Sima not having enough of the brackets stocked. I'm not sure why it took them two months to re-stock.
This is my only experience ordering a Sima product, but I wasn't impressed with their service. However, I look forward to using the bracket on other shoots in the future.

Comments about Sima Video Bracket:
They work great for holding mics or flashes but I got really good use out of it by flipping the screw over and using it as a handle for my waterproof housing to get the camera up and away from my line of dive so i can manipulate it more.

If you're into using HD video shooting with your DSLRs, these brackets are the way to go. This bracket is light, cheap, and comes with 2 shoes, great for holding a mic and video light together.

Comments about Sima Video Bracket:
This Sima bracket simply does the job it's supposed to do. I use it to add an extra handle for stability when running around getting b-roll with a Kodak Zi8 or Flip cam. It also allows easy mounting of a microphone and/or wireless lav system. Seems sturdy.

Comments about Sima Video Bracket:
i bought this bracket for my camcorder and i have to say for the price it is nice. i have used it both with my still camera too, having a little light to help the AF in dark places. i like that fact that i can attach it to my tripod and then quick release to move around to capture. the way it is designed you won't have that floor or celling or that "what is he doing shot while trying to put your hand in the cams strap. and it stopped some of the shake you would get from holding your camcorder in your palm. the price was as low as i think anyone could go, so if you have a tight budget this would be a perfect tool to have. i had a few people wanting to buy mine i told them to get thier own. [...] thanks guys!

I'm using it to attach a Rode VideoMic to a small Canon camcorder that didn't come with an accessory shoe.
It's sturdy, and also serves as another grip for your second hand. Recommended.

It does it's job holding my 7" monitor and my DTE recorder. Is good solution if you run out of shoe mounts.

Comments about Sima Video Bracket:
The bracket does what it is suppose to do. Allows easy handling of a camcorder. We use it for Paranormal Investigating. Attaches securely to camcorder and it allows accessories such as IR lights and/or microphones to attach to it. We use one of these on each night vision camcorder to follow around an investigative group. Definitely helps with fatigue from holding the camcorder.

Works great with my video camera-it holds my external IR lights perfectly!
The angle of the handle is comfortable to grip and hold for extended periods of time, which is important.

Comments about Sima Video Bracket:
If you bought the Sima SL20-IR light and don't have a mount on the top of your camcorder, then this bracket is a must have. The light does come with its own bracket, but this bracket lets your light sit higher out of your way and has a hand grip. It will also allow you to attach multiple lights to really brighten up the night.
