The 54 Mbps 802.11g Wireless Firewall Router from TRENDnet combines the functions of a Cable/DSL router and a wireless access point into one compact device. The router allows you to share your Internet connection between several computers that can connect via a standard 802.11b/g wireless connection or via any of four wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports.
The router also features a firewall to protect you from malicious software that can attack your computer from the Internet, as well as wireless security to insure that your data remains private.
The router can achieve speeds of 54 Mbps via a standard 802.11g wireless connection and it is also fully backward compatible with devices that use the older 11 Mbps 802.11b standard. These features make the wireless router a great way to add wireless access to your home network.

Comments about Trendnet 54 Mbps 802.11g Wireless Firewall Router:
I used the installation CD which advised using a security setting (WPA) that Windows vista didn't recognize, resulting in my first helpline call. As I was on the phone, they advised me to change a few other settings to make the router better. Huh? Shouldn't they be right when you get the product?
All worked well for a few days when the internet connection stopped. So I unplugged the power, plugged it back in and it worked for another few days. Then the same thing happened again. And again. This time, I called the helpline. The call lasted over an hour, during the course of which many cables were disconnected and reconnected, the modem restarted numerous times and the router's firmware was upgraded. Finally I'm back online with assurances that it won't happen again... here's hoping.
