The mic gets very good reviews, especially when it comes to sound quality. However, I can't really tell you if these reviews are justified - I never got it to work. Apparently the USB mic doesn't get along with my computer's (Realtek) sound card. It's either sound card, or microphone. After a short fight, I opted for sound card.

I bought this to use in recording voice overs for video production. It works terrific right out of the box, i would definitely recommend this product. I was considering ribbon mic's for three times the price. Glad i gave this one a shot first! One comment would be the gain adjustment is kind of limited but this is minor and easy to overcome with recording software.

Easy to hookup and get started right away with ASIO4all. Nice weighted base and overall nice design. Good sound quality, but don't expect studio clarity.

I am a professional voice over talent and I own my own high end recording studio. I also teach Audio Production at North Park University. I use this kit to record quick demos/podcasts whenever I am on the road. The sound quality is much, much better than any built in microphone, and its USB interface eliminates the need for other pieces of hardware. If you are just starting to discover the fun of recording the human voice, this kit is for you!

I'm a novice user and wanting to do some audio recording for training pieces. The audio quality is really good. It took a lot of trial and error to find the right distance to set the microphone. I still find it hard to go back and rerecord and have it sound similar (I can't seem to get the distance the same every time.) I use a different sound editor than the one that came with. The one I have, I'm more familiar with and has more features. The instructions are not very good. There are some things that are left out of the instructions that you just have to figure out on your own - and as a novice, that's not good. It took me a long time to figure out that there was an extra tip that needed to be removed before I could plug the headphones into my laptop. The other thing that is bothersome, is that if both the headphones and microphone are both plugged into my laptop at the same time, then only the microphone works - the headphones do not work. So I have to unplug the microphone in order to listen to the recording. - pain. So now I just do a bunch of recordings all at once and then listen to them all later.
