Comments about Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 - Integrated USB 2.0 Audio Interface and Mixer:
I compose music and write arrangements for live shows produced by a community theatre I work for as a freelance musician. Majority of the work I've done has been recorded on the sequencer and then mastered on the computer. For some work I used a Tascam multitrack. I bought this gear because I needed more flexibility with tracks and easiness of edititing audio and applying effects. This mixer has proven to be an excellent choice. I was a bit concerned about my laptop which is just 1.6 Ghz and 1 GB memory not being able to keep up, but my worries weren't justified. This mixer handles all the multitrack recording/playback tasks without slightest effort. No latency or hiccups. The USB2 speed can handle a lot of data traffic in time. The clarity of the recording is excellent. I haven't tried the effects or EQ because I use them later in Cubase after recording when I work out the mix, but I'm pretty sure having other Alesis equipment they are well up to par and can be quite useful on stage. For a price paid this mixer is a great value.

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 - Integrated USB 2.0 Audio Interface and Mixer:
I purchased this mixer to run 2 Sony wireless lav. mics into a MacPro during live webcasts. I was disappointed to find out that it was not compatible with OSX Lion, and could not make it work on my computer. After calling Alesis customer support, they had a driver for me within 48 hours. Either the timing was just right or Alesis has the best customer support ever. Now it works flawlessly.
The system has a professional quality, with smooth controls and quality materials. I would not hesitate to purchase other items from Alesis in the future.

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 - Integrated USB 2.0 Audio Interface and Mixer:
I bought this specifically to use for recording with my laptop. I own a Yamaha MG82CX and the Alesis mixer is quite comparable to the Yamaha.
Cubase LE needs a bit of getting used to but has a lot of features for multi track recordings.
While the overall build quality seems satisfactory, the gain knobs feel awkward as they are partially sunken in the chassis. Also noticed the mixer gets quite warm during operation.

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 - Integrated USB 2.0 Audio Interface and Mixer:
Bought this product being very skeptical about the reviews I read with this mixer having driver issues with Windows 7 64 bit. I just downloaded the driver from the Alesis website, followed the quick start instructions, and it has worked just fine. I'm using the included Albeton Live Lite software which is very easy to use and set up with the mixer. I've owned this product for about one month so far with no hiccups. The sound quality is great, the built in effects are a huge plus, and I honestly couldn't have chose a better product in both value and quality aspects. For the price and features you get, this product should definitely receive serious consideration for both beginner and intermediate recording purposes.

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 - Integrated USB 2.0 Audio Interface and Mixer:
Much interfaces are only that: interfaces. This is different. You can use it like a regular mixer in small projects, garage band, a little band. But powerful because when you connect it to a Mac, can record up to 8 independent channels at a time, giving you also the chance to monitor the input levels and adjust it easely. Very, very practical mixer and recording interface. Yes, it's small, but that's the good stuff.

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 - Integrated USB 2.0 Audio Interface and Mixer:
This is my first real audio interface and I love it. It's a really handy analog mixer with very useable effects and works great as a multichannel interface. It is quiet, sounds good, and is a great way for someone to get started with computer based recording as it comes with cubase LE. I'm recording hardware synths and samplers but it would be great for recording a band as well because you can record 8 analog inputs simultaneously.

The mixer works as advertised. Records great clean audio onto my Mac. It occasionally stutters, but that's mainly due to the hard drive speed on my computer.

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 - Integrated USB 2.0 Audio Interface and Mixer:
I have only owned this for a couple weeks. I haven't had a problem with it. Its has some effects I haven't used. It works well with adobe audition. When recording the thing I really liked was I could assign line 1 to track 1 line 2 track two and so on in audition. This gives me the capability to record full jam sessions and isolate each instrument. There is a delay that I can hear in the headphones occasionally but it doesn't reflect in the recording.
