Gates FX1 Mechanical UW Housing for Sony HDR-FX1 & HVR-Z1U Camcorders

The Gates FX1 mechanical underwater housing is designed for the Sony HDR-FX1 and HVR-Z1U high definition-camcorders. The housing is constructed of bulletproof aluminum, with an anodized and urethane-sealed finish with stainless-steel positive locking safety latches for strength and durability. The housing provides total control of camera functions with reliable mechanical controls, crystal-clear optics, built-in magnified viewfinder, and internal color-correcting flip filter.

Since it is a mechanically-controlled housing sealed with o-rings, you don't have to worry about being in a remote area and needing a soldering gun to fix a corroded electrical connector.

The included SP44 standard port is a high-quality polycarbonate port that is optically corrected so your lens has the same angle of view underwater as it does on land. The port does not allow full use of the camera's zoom.

The kit also includes the Gates Green Force HID 250 video light system with two 50W HID light heads and articulating arms. The light heads are constructed of aluminum with glass diffusers. The lights will operate to a depth of 500'.

Features include a 55 minute burn time. The 50W HID lamp is 2 to 3 times brighter than a halogen bulb. Each light has a 3800° kelvin color temperature. This is warmer then most HID lamps and will help bring back the reds and yellows into the scene. The glass diffusers are very efficient and produce an even light with no hot spots. The lights will cover a 110° area. A bracket to attach the batteries to the housing is included.
