Had a copy job, I found the best way was to photograph old photos using a copy stand. The remote work great. No camera shake while pushing the camera button.

I needed a remote cable release for taking long exposure pictures with my Olympus E-510. I thought about getting the wireless model, but I was concerned how well the wireless signal would work from various angles (especially since it seemed it was designed more to be operated from the front of the camera). I don't mind hopping in a picture within 12 seconds, but I wanted to make sure my long exposure pictures came our right. The RM-UC1 did exactly that. You just plug it in to the USB port on the back of the camera and it works just like the normal shutter release. If you want a remote cable release for an Olympus camera that just works, don't hesitate to pick this up.

I have never used a Remote Cable Release, before I purchased this one. I used it for a landscape. It was easy to attach and worked perfectly.

I had the chance to use the remote shortly after I received it. We get humming birds and for the amateur they difficult, and my back yard is kind of dark as well.
I set my camera up a few feet from the feeder and sat down in a chair as far back as I could. The bird showed and I got a great shot. If I had been standing by the camera and had to push a shutter button - doubtful. I only wish the cable were a bit longer.

I use the remote when shooting from my tripod, especially for long exposures and macros.
The length of cable is good for me, and the features are good.

What does not work so well is that the cable plugs into the camera port perpendicular to the camera--so it sticks out and is bumped easily. I have to reseat the cable into the port each time I move the tripod a little. However, there really is no other product that attaches differently to my knowledge...

Well designed and good build quality. Great for taking tripod shots without disturbing the camera. It would have been nice if Olympus included a soft carrying pouch, but overall, a great product.

This remote is exactly what I needed. It's simple to plug-in and requires little finger pressure to operate. The remote seems well-constructed and will only improve your photography. When reaching that little button on the camera is undesirable, buy this remote!

Never comfortable using the cameras exposure button for studio still life shoots. The remote keeps everything still and combined with the shutter delay assures me sharp images. One less thing to worry about.
