I have many LaCie Rugged drives that I use to download video camera files shot on flash memory cards. and out on video shoots there are often other people's hard drives around too. the colored sleeves are very useful both in differentiating my drives from other people's, and in helping me easily tell one of my many drives from another.
I only wish they had more colors--if they did I would buy them.

Nothing says I know how to waste money better than spending $20 over using a piece of tape.
That said, the black one is oh-so-sleek. If you want to be sleek this is the price of doing business. The green one is perhaps too cool and the blue one is way dorky. For $20, they should have much better colors like yellow or even no-nonsense grey. Lacie: get up on your style!

I have several of these LaCie Rugged Hard Drives, and since they all come with the international orange sleeve, it gets confusing which is which. These let you color code them as long as you don't have more than 4. They are easy to swap out, and keep the drive safe from bumps.

okay, so i survived without these, I would just write in Sharpie on the orange harddrives, but who likes orange? ugly ugly. this makes it clear visually by color coding which hd is for what, and for the price, it's totally worth it :)
