The Induro MXC44 Carbon 8X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod offers the ultimate in strength, lightweight, fast action and reliable performance. It uses 8-layer, 2nd generation carbon fiber technology for its leg construction. This 8x tubing is 60% stronger overall than conventional carbon fiber tripods. This is achieved by using more fibers and less epoxy in the manufacturing blend.
The MXC series of monopods feature a fold out tripod at their base, for added support and stability. This allows the monopod to be used with much heavier weight loads.

Comments about Induro MXC44 Carbon 8X Carbon Fiber Monopod:
I bought this monopod because I liked the idea of the retractable legs for added stabalization. however, I found that the legs are too light weight and flexible to provide the kind of suplimental stabalization I was looking for. The monopod seems sturdy and well made in other respects.
I wish someone would make a monopod with the sort of base that comes with bicycle pumps. You could just sort of stand on the base for added stabalization.

Comments about Induro MXC44 Carbon 8X Carbon Fiber Monopod:
This is a rock steady monopod! I never have warmed up to monopods because they never seemed to be steady enough. This monopod has made a believer of me. I use this with a Canon 1DS MKII and a 400mm 5.6 attached. For Nature & Wildlife shooting I found the feet to be a little noisy when they were stored. It was an easy fix. I just wrapped some duct tape around the ends to keep them from touching when stored.
