The KONA 3x 12-Bit HD PCI-X Capture Card for Mac from AJA is an excellent choice for your HD, SD and 2K capture needs for Mac. The card supports analog S-Video, component and composite video connections as well as SD-SDI, HD-SDI, Dual-Link HD and 2K HSDL digital video connections. In addition to support for 12-bit uncompressed video capture, the card delivers 10-bit broadcast-quality video output. The card is designed for use on the Macintosh platform, making it an excellent choice for Final Cut Pro users.
- Multiple Formats Supported
- The KONA 3x supports many industry video formats and standards. It can capture and output SDI, HD-SDI, Dual Link HD-SDI 4:4:4, Dual Link HD-SDI 4:4:4:4 and 2K video. It also adds hardware acceleration for DVCPROHD, HDV, and Dynamic RT Extreme video. The card can capture 12-bit quality video and output at 10-bits.
- Professional 2K Workflow
- The capture card is an essential component for an efficient 2K video workflow. It features HSDL connectivity for direct capture from a telecine. This allows 35mm to be digitized at 2K resolution for editing, focus monitoring and FX work. The card can then export the finished edit at 2K resolution, minimizing time, labor and tape costs.
- Broadcast Conversion
- The KONA supports 10-bit broadcast-quality, motion-adaptive SD to HD up-conversion, HD to HD cross-conversion, HD to SD down-conversion and automatic HD/SD 2-bit component analog output. This allows you to use the card in almost any broadcast environment.
- Hardware Keyer
- The card has a built-in hardware keyer that works with QuickTime to layer alpha-channel graphics over video. This allows you to use the card to add graphics and logos over video in real time.
