Your current DVD library will look and sound better than ever before, because this is a progressive-scan player capable of upconverting your DVDs to a 1080i high-definition experience.

Moreover, it offers incredible features that will be hard to match. Enjoy the awesome power of Dolby Digital and DTS audio decoding, instant search, DV (IEEE) front-input, and HDMI output. With multi-format playback capabilities, connectivity to virtually any A/V source, optical/coaxial digital audio outputs, one-touch recording video camera dubbing, and 8 hour recording capability, your entertainment choices are endless with the Sony RDR-GX355.

• High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI): If you're looking to pump high-definition DVD playback into your HD displays or projectors, this unit will do the job. It has a high-bandwidth processor capable of upconverting to 1080i through the HDMI output. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable.

• Progressive Scan: This is a progressive scan DVD player, capable of scanning an entire video frame at once; scan-lines commonly associated with interlaced video are drastically reduced. The result is a spectacularly clear image with no motion artifacts (stair-stepping), and details so sharp they seem as if they're etched onto the screen.

• Set-Top Box Pass-Through: It offers Set-Top Box Pass-Through technology, which allows for viewing of TV programs from your satellite receiver or cable box even when the RDR-GX355 is powered off.

• Multi-Format Player: Don't worry about limited playback capabilities, it can play DVD-Video, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-RAM, VCD, SVCD, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-DA, MP3, and JPEG images.

• Recordable DVD Media: Record your favorite shows onto DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD+R Dual Layer discs.

• Multiple Recording Modes: It offers 8 recording modes: HQ (1h), HSP (1.5h), SP (2h), LSP (2.5h), ESP (3h), LP (4h), EP (6h), SLP (8h). Also, the RDR-GX355 has the ability to record up to an amazing 14 hours with a DVD+R DL disc (SLP Mode).

• DV (IEEE 1394) Input: Just connect your digital video camera to the RDR-GX355's DV front-input terminal, and you're ready to record images onto a DVD recordable disc.

• High-Performance Outputs: With playback specifications that meet the standards of professionals, this recorder features a component video output for high-resolution low-distortion video playback, and optical/coaxial digital audio outputs for high-quality audio playback.

• Dolby Digital and DTS Sound: It offers built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders capable of advanced 32-bit processing and an outstanding sampling frequency of 96KHz.
