I just purchased this bag to complement my F-803 satchel, which I use for most assignments.
I'm a working photojournalist and I like to travel light. I bought this bag for a very specific purpose, to carry one Leica M rangefinder camera and one extra lens and/or extra film. I often carry my larger domke when shooting events or more serious work, but when I'm walking around exploring a place or doing street photography, often I just need one camera, maybe an extra lens and a place to keep extra rolls of film. Sometimes a bag isn't needed, but it's nice to have a place to put the camera if the weather turns foul or if I need to enter a place where I don't want to show off my camera.
This bag is perfect for my purposes. It's a great bag for pro shooters using small gear wanting to be discrete and travel very light.
It can hold a Leica MP with a lens mounted and another lens, with some room left over for film, and not much else.
I love the velcro flap combined with the interior zipper closure, which should make the bag fairly pilfer-proof.
My one complaint is the large red domke tag on the front flap, since I didn't want the bag to look like a camera bag. Fortunately, it's nothing that couldn't be fixed with 30 seconds and a sharp pair of scissors.
It's a wonderful little bag, and judging by the longevity of my 803, which I've had for over ten years and which has been all over the world, I'm sure it will hold up well.

I was looking for a bag to keep my camera in as I walk around taking photos. It would be nice to have room for another lens, maybe car keys and a phone, or a pair of sunglasses. Many rangefinder forum users suggested this bag, so I purchased one. The price was inexpensive enough to take a chance without having seen the bag in person. It's well made, but it doesn't seem well designed. The main compartment is covered by a flap that is held in place by LouD velcro attachments. There are no pockets in the flap, so it is apparently only there to keep out the rain: slightly inconvenient. The main compartment is additionally has a zipper along the top center. The problem is that the top is shaped such that the sides don't completely open, so getting things in and out is inconvenient and the item will rub against the zipper as well. The included separator provides a section for the camera and whatever else is along for the ride which is fine for bigger things. A separate pocket for the little things is useful as well and this bag has two. Unfortunately, they appear to be designed to each hold a single lens cap, and don't have their own closure, instead relying on the bag flap. They may reliably hold onto something, but I'm not betting on it. Nice shoulder strap, nice size, I like the simplicity in concept. I might cut off the flap, sew on a full size external pocket, and do something about widening the top opening, and then I'd have a perfect bag!

Comments about Domke F-5XA Shoulder and Belt Bag, Small (Black):
I purchased this bag for my Fuji X100. The bag has an adjustable Velcro center divider allowing the camera to be stored on one side and external flash and accessories on the other side. The front of the bag has two pockets which are perfect for storing a couple of filters. The quality and construction of the bag is top notch. The only negative with the bag is the fact that the zipper goes across the center of the bag instead of around the perimeter.

Comments about Domke F-5XA Shoulder and Belt Bag, Small (Black):
This bag is absolutely perfect for EVIL / Compact system cameras. I have spent the last month trying to find an ideal bag for my nex-5n and the two kit lenses (18-55, 16mm pancake) as well as a place to put my phone. I bought a Kata Marvelx 20 and a Crumpler 2 Million Dollar Home and neither one really suited me. The Domke does.
The Kata, which was made for just the 18-55 didn't have a nice, soft lining, but a typical nylon-material and had a difficult circumference zipper along the perimeter of the bag. To open it, I had to zip up, right, then left to get at my camera. The 2 million dollar home would hold the camera body with the 18-55 attached and the 16 on the side just fine, but with the 16 mm attached, the 18-55 was too large to have both the lens and the camera side by side - the solution would require me to stack the camera on top of the lens.
The Domke F=5XA is my first Domke bag, but it will certainly not be my last. It feels very rugged, has some space for accessories (or a smartphone) and does not scream camera bag. It's also relatively thin--which is perfect for an EVIL camera--which prevents it from sticking out too much when you wear it.
The straps are metal and removable and the bottom is very sturdy. The straps also have a nice rubber-like material sewn into it so that the bag won't slip off your shoulders.
When I tried this bag, I also played around with the Lowepro Courier 80/70, Tamrac Rally 2, and Manfrotto Solo II and the Domke came out on top. The Lowepros looked like children's lunchboxes and did not fit the double lens kit all that well, the Tamrac was very thick and stuck out too much when worn, and the Solo II was too small for both lenses.
All and all, this bag is the perfect companion for the NEX-5N and other EVIL cameras.

Great build quality... It's a Domke.. So it's got great canvas and super build quality. I actually use this little bag to hold a couple of lenses instead of my D700 with the battery grip. No 5 start rating because of the price..

Comments about Domke F-5XA Shoulder and Belt Bag, Small (Black):
When traveling overseas, I use my larger gadget bag as the mother ship, with this little bag tucked tightly squeezed inside. Once on port, this little Domke transforms into my mobile caddy, one I move around with my old Nikon FM2 SLR and trusty Vivitar 283 flash, along with a couple of filters and enough rolls of supplies for a day's tour—all into the little bag. I rotate different combinations of carry-on equipment based on the shooting situation. It's a hardy companion—been with me boating in wet-splashing rapids and even climbing to the top of a volcano. The belt strap feature and zipper tuck-in are a security plus for rough settings, too. Handy little unassuming bag for even just weekend strolls around town, yet built to take it in any weather.

Comments about Domke F-5XA Shoulder and Belt Bag, Small (Black):
The bag will fit two Leica M9 bodies with 50 and 28 mm lenses in place, plus room for a 90 mm lens, spare batteries, digital SD cards and some lens cleaners. It's unobtrusive (once the Domke tag is removed) and hangs close to the body.
All in all, excellent. A front zipper closing pocket would be a useful addition in place of the row front pockets.

I am very impressed with the quality of all the Domke bags. This bag works well for a small camera or pair of binoculars. Nice padding, soft lining, indestructable construction, and made in the USA. I love this bag.

This is a super bag to throw anything in: lens, flash, cards etc and keep with me whilst shooting events when a bigger bag can be left on the side.

It's a nice bag. It fits my SLR and an extra lens plus a couple accessories in the small front pockets like an extra battery, memory card, and small card reader. The buckles are made of metal which is nice and less likely to break. It's a great compact shoulder bag for when you're walking around town, hiking, etc. The only thing I don't like is that the front pockets don't have any zippers but the flap covers them up nicely. And I wish it had a couple more small pockets.
