Although these do isolate the user from ambient noise, the bass is disappointing. The spec sheet claims response down to 22Hz, but I'd estimate the real performance to be closer to 60Hz.

I love these. Great assortment of ear fittings to fit any ear and use. Great sound - they just disappear. They even bring out the best in a cheap MP3 player. Great sound isolation. I use them when I run the snowblower. Led Zeppelin with snow swirling around? Life is good.

These earbuds have the best sound isolating foam inserts I have ever used . They keep the shape you put them in and this allows the time to insert them in your ear and position them properly before the foam expands to fill the ear. Once in , you are isolated from the outside world . The only thing I wish the 310's had was a little more bass . I dont want bose or monster turbine bass which actually drowns out the mids and highs , but the 310's were supposed to have more then the 210's and I just dont hear that . None the less they do reproduce exceptionally crisp clean sound which is a trademark of shure. My daughters bose earbuds recently had one bud starting to cut out , so she gets my 310's and I get to move up to the 530's which I've heard are the ferrari of earbuds , cant wait to try them .

I've been playing around with the different ear pieces trying to get the best fit. The sound is great, even the treble sounds fantastic, and the sound isolating is just outta this world. The volume level on my ipod is like a 1/4 of the bar on the screen!
Although its expensive given the extended warranty and the company's rep and the little things that add so much to the earphones, if you have the money to invest, do it. hopefully youll be as happy as I am.

I love these earphones because they stay in my ears. The sound is great, and they do a good job suppressing ambiant noise. Love the small size for airline travel as well. I also use them with my ipod when I exercise.
