The Manfrotto 562B is a four-section fluid video monopod for use with camcorders weighing up to 17.6 lbs (8kg). The 5626B folds down to a sleek 27.2" (69cm) for transport, and carries the iron-clad Bogen/Manfrotto 2-year warranty for parts and labor.

Just purchased this last month and I've shot three live events using this monopod and am very impressed with how smooth and steady the camera work turned out. The fluid base makes pans remarkably smooth with exactly the right amount of resistance. This unit has allowed me to fit into spaces and get shots I would never had been able to get with a tripod while remaining much steadier than hand-held shots.
This monopod is well-built, strong, sturdy, and smooth. Changing height is quick and easy with one hand. I was able to change the height while shooting and not interfere or effect the shot at all. Very handy piece of equipment!
My only complaints are:
1. This specific model (562B) does not have a tilt head. This is not disclosed in the online product description nor in the catalog. It is described with the other 2 models that do have tilt heads, but this one does not tilt. The lack of tilt is probably because of the inherent danger in letting heavier cameras (for which this unit is designed) flop around. However, my camera is just a pound over the weight limit of the next unit that does tilt... The lack of tilt means "tipping the unit forward or backward to get some shots and that requires refocusing, which is hard to do because the camera is tipped one way or the other and you have only one hand to adjust with... If your camera is anywhere near the weight limit, I recommend getting a model with a tilt head.
2. The plate that comes with this particular unit is enormous. I understand it is designed for "larger" cameras, but this thing is huge and, unless your camera is huge too, has to be removed if you decide to go to your shoulder, as it extends out in front and back and really dug into my shoulder.
Otherwise, the monopod worked beautifully. The pans are as smooth as my tripod and the thing has actually made shooting a lot of fun again!
The price is totally reasonable considering the quality of the unit, it's utility and for all the flexibility it has allowed me.

It would be smart for Manfrotto to sell this monopod without the 357 quick release or sell it with a 577 quick release option. I went ahead and bought this monopod and fabricated a new lock for the mounting plate so I could mount all my equipment with 501 plates. It's seems shortsighted to have this quick release when so many of us use 503/701/501 fluid heads.
The ball joint at the bottom can get sticky and ruin smooth shots when it suddenly releases, you gotta warm it up before shooting by moving it around. This set up will work better that a conventional monopod for video because the feet and fluid panning mechanism at the base work great.

This is especially suited for events, weddings...video with slippery smooth panning movement...
And with a range of 27" to 76", it can accommodate a lot of shooting scenarios.
In terms of weight capacity, it can handle my full load easily. Great.

great design and functionality. i use it like a steadicam when shooting video and to support long lenses when shooting stills. either way it's great. don't buy another mono pod and then wish you had this one. this is the one you need.

Once in a while, a tool comes along that is so extraordinary, you find you cannot live without it. That is this item!
I have used a Duo-Pod for many years (If you have never heard of it, Google it), and I never thought I would part with it until I found this. It is sturdy, tall (allowing you to shoot above your head), light weight, folds to a compact size for easy travel, and the "head" on the bottom is truly a revolutionary design. At first I thought it was a gimmick design, but at around $200 I thought I would take a gamble and try it. Since receiving it, I have never gone on a shoot without it.
It does NOT replace a tripod for those times when you need to be rock steady (like a formal interview), or those times when shooting with a long lens, but for run & gun, you'll never shoot hand-held again.
I use this for video only - not photography. I use it with both the Sony EX1, and Canon 60D DSLR.

This is the best mono pod ever for shooting live music! I have owned 4 of the these the 561 lighter weight and 2 of these 562B's 2 out of 4 have broken in the exact same way and Manfrotto does not sell the replacement part. The entire foot falls off the pod! It is a very bad design and has nothing really holding it on. I can't believe they have not addressed this design fault. All that said I have bough replacements as this is the best tallest smoothest one on the market!
Another complaint is the Quick Release Plate does Not match the 503 or other Manfrotto Heads so you have to jerry rig or change plates to jump to a tripod. This is a real pain in workflow. = Dumb

Great leg! Sturdy!
Love the 3-legged stand for it because it has a fluid ball at the base making it easy to pan and tilt. A little on the heavy side, but it can bear a lot of weight.

This is by far the worst purchase I have ever made. The base is terrible, trying to tilt using the base, it catches and "pops" leaving you with a quick jolt in your footage. The pan is smooth, but with that being said, I will purchase a heavy duty "plain, bare bones monopod" and use a tilt head. It's much easier. End of story.

I used it on a wedding tonight and wow, I can't believe I didn't buy this a long time ago!
I have a canon xha1 so I was originally going to get the manfrotto monopod with the tilt head but bh didn't have them in stock so I went with this one. I really have not run into a lot of situations where I needed to drastically tilt the camera head but obviously, this is something that might be a problem for some.
One concern about this monopod is the base. It uses a ball bearing that can easily be destroyed when used on a dirt surface. When I use it on an outdoor shoot, I insert a one gallon ziplock bag over the base . It actually works really* well and does not affect the fluid motion at all, just staple the bag so it doesn't come off!
Yeah, I live in arizona. lol

I have a JVC HD-GY200U Video camera that I use for Event coverage. Sometimes there is no room for a tripod. The 562B Monopod works great. I snap the plate at the bottom of camera and I can use the monopod to hold camera in position with good support. Anything to make it easier when you have a camera with light and battery pack that adds to the weight. Bottom line,562B monopod makes it easy to hold, move side to side and work camera with no tripod.
